Alteos GmbH

These tasks are waiting for you

You'll be a core contributor to the Admin Experience team.

Design and develop secure, well-tested features across a TypeScript/Node.js backend and React frontend

Contribute to our API-first infrastructure — the engine behind how partners integrate insurance into their products

Build AI-powered features using Claude and Gemini — from intelligent claims automation to LLM-assisted OPS tooling we run in production today

Design and implement agentic workflows — multi-step, LLM-orchestrated processes that replace manual ops tasks across claims, support, and partner onboarding

Work across the full stack with PostgreSQL, Redis, DocumentDB, Kafka, and AWS

Collaborate closely with Product, Platform Engineering, Finance, and Operations to turn business requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions

Drive technical improvements in quality, performance, and security — your initiative is welcome, not just tolerated
We operate in a regulated environment (BaFin, DORA, EU compliance), so thoughtfulness about security and data integrity — including when AI is in the loop — is part of the job.

This is what you bring to the table

You don't need to tick every box. If this sounds like your kind of work, we want to hear from you.

5+ years as a Software Engineer — we care about the quality of your experience, not just the length

Very strong command of TypeScript / JavaScript and Node.js; familiarity with React is a plus

Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or similar) — you've built something real with them, not just experimented

Familiarity with AI-native development patterns: prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, tool/function calling, agentic orchestration, or MCP

Comfort reasoning about AI reliability and risk in production — output validation, fallback strategies, observability of LLM-driven flows

Hands-on experience with databases like PostgreSQL, Redis, or DocumentDB; event-driven systems (Kafka or similar) are a bonus

Comfort working in AWS environments with Docker and CI/CD pipelines

Solid understanding of DDD, SOLID principles, and modern system design

Experience writing unit, integration, and contract tests — including how to test non-deterministic AI components

Experience in fintech, insurtech, payments, or banking integrations — or genuine curiosity to learn the domain

Clear communicator who can hold a technical discussion and a product conversation in the same meeting
Fluent in English — German or other languages are a plus

What we offer

Together with our investor, AXA, we offer a combination of entrepreneurial freedom, leading technological know-how, reliability and extensive experience in the conception and management of insurance solutions that is rather unusual for the insurance industry.

When you become part of our team, you can expect to work with incredibly versatile and talented colleagues.

The opportunity to lead and grow an exciting team

The opportunity to shape the future of insurance by contributing to the strategy and success of Alteos and further advancing one of the worlds leading core insurance systems

Modern working in the middle of Berlin's City-West, with a wide range of perks and benefits. To name a few: subsidized lunch & one free lunch a week, discount on BVG ticket, company (e-)bike leasing, urban sports club, mental well-being app

Many opportunities to connect with your colleagues outside of daily work, e.g.through team events, weekly yoga classes, team runs and more

A flexible work model (hybrid working role)
