ai-coustics is building the reliability layer for Voice AI, the system that closes the gap between raw audio input and reliable machine understanding in production. By combining state-of-the-art speech and audio research with real-time, production-grade SDKs, we test, observe, and enable Voice AI systems to work in any environment.
Our software is used by Voice AI companies across Europe and the United States whose products require reliable performance at scale: call center agents, voice agents, telephony apps, and enterprise voice assistants. We believe voice will become the main interface for technology and ai-coustics is building the foundational infrastructure to make audio input reliable, measurable, and easy to deploy.

Role Overview

As Developer Relations, your job is to make ai-coustics the default “audio quality layer” in the Voice AI builder stack by turning our technology into developer pull: world-class docs, undeniable demos, credible benchmarks, and an engaged community. This role is on-site in Berlin, with meaningful interaction with the SF ecosystem via events, partnerships, and content.

This is a deeply technical DevRel role. You will write and maintain code, ship reference implementations, build integrations with frameworks like LiveKit and Pipecat, and design benchmarks that let developers clearly see the impact of audio enhancement in their own systems. You’ll work closely with Engineering and Product to turn real developer friction into shipped improvements, and with GTM to turn high-quality technical artifacts into sustained inbound demand.

The role is on-site in Berlin, with regular interaction with the US Voice AI ecosystem, particularly San Francisco. The environment is high-ownership and high-trust, and the expectations are explicit: move fast, ship things developers use, and raise the technical bar of the Voice AI ecosystem.

• Own developer activation: improve “first 30 minutes” success for SDK/API users (docs, quickstarts, reference apps, troubleshooting), and systematically reduce drop-off from interest to trial and active usage.
• Ship technical content that converts: short tutorials, deep-dive guides, and example repositories aligned to the Voice AI workflow (telephony/RTC → agent stack → ASR/TTS/LLM), with a bias toward practical “copy/paste and run.”
• Build and maintain best-in-class integrations with key ecosystems, especially Pipecat and LiveKit, including runnable demos, templates, and partner co-marketing assets that drive qualified inbound and evaluations.
• Make benchmarks a first-class GTM asset: create benchmark templates and reproducible evaluation harnesses that help customers validate impact in their own environments (noise profiles, codecs, latency budgets, downstream ASR metrics). This is often the deciding factor in Voice AI buying decisions.
• Run developer community + ecosystem motion: engage in builder communities (Discord/Slack/GitHub), collect “where people get stuck,” and turn that into shipped improvements (docs, examples, SDK UX). (Aligned with LiveKit’s “community engagement + developer voice” framing.)
• Host and organize developer-focused events: plan and execute high-signal technical events such as workshops, webinars, meetups, hack sessions, and partner events (especially around Voice AI hubs like Berlin and San Francisco) to educate developers, strengthen ecosystem relationships, and drive hands-on adoption.
• Operate the “developer voice → roadmap” loop: synthesize recurring feedback into crisp tickets and partner with Product/Engineering to ship fixes that move activation and retention metrics.
• Support SF + EU presence: help plan and execute high-signal developer events and ecosystem formats—especially around SF, where Voice AI builders are concentrated.

• Technical DevRel / Developer Advocate / DevEx experience at a developer-first product company (APIs/SDKs/infra), with proof you can drive adoption through shipped artifacts (docs, sample apps, integrations).
• Hands-on Voice AI builder experience, including building agent systems and real-time pipelines with Pipecat and/or LiveKit (or adjacent RTC/telephony stacks).
• Ability to ship production-quality code (commonly Python + TypeScript/Node; bonus for Rust/C++ familiarity) and maintain example repos that stay up to date.
• Strong intuition for what makes developers successful: fast time-to-first-success, high-signal errors, crisp docs, and opinionated reference implementations. (Matches the “make developers successful” framing at OpenAI DevEx.)
• Benchmarking mindset: you can design evaluations that are reproducible, defensible, and relevant to customer constraints—and you know how to communicate results credibly (not hype).
• Excellent communication: technical writing, live demos, workshops, and partner-facing collaboration.
• Early-stage startup experience required: you’ve worked in a high-growth environment with limited process and high ownership—and you know how to build the function while executing day-to-day.
