## Tasks

3Brain is looking for a full-time Field Application Scientist for its Italian office (Genova) who will work with our scientific team to support customer projects, answer technical questions, and find creative approaches to solve customer needs concerning cell assays and statistical analysis of results. The candidate will be involved in technical support comprising data analysis and ICT aspects as well as in cell culture laboratory routines and experimental activities. The candidate will work at the interface between science, tech, and sales, working closely with customers, performing lab activities to explore new biological models and applications as well as testing products and participating to R&D activities.

Main responsibilities:

*   Develop an extensive experimental knowledge of the 3Brain’s products and of their applications.
*   Support customer’s needs regarding technical, ICT and scientific aspects.
*   Collect information about customer experience and provide regular follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
*   Process experimental results, perform statistical analysis, prepare, and present reports.
*   Perform experimental tests with diverse cell preparations and cell models (e.g., brain slices, cultures, spheroids, organoids) on 3Brain’s measurement systems.
*   Perform lab activities as for example cell culture thawing, differentiation and maintenance.
*   Organization of daily research activities, managing project priorities and deadlines, identifying, and resolving instrumentation issues.
*   Scientific consulting and technical support activities for our customers, partners, and distributors worldwide via e-mail, remote phone calls, or travel to customer sites.
*   Provide remote and on-site training and support to customers while performing experiments on 3Brain’s system.
*   Support sales activities by providing technical consulting and by organizing and performing on-site or remote system demo.
*   Support HW and SW R&D team in validating and testing new prototypes with biological models.
*   Attend conferences, congress, and trade shows.
*   Write technical documentation as manuals, handbooks and application notes or provide scientific contents for poster presentation and papers.

## Requirements

**Required Qualifications**

*   Master/PhD degree in biomedical engineering / biomedical sciences / molecular biology.
*   Deep knowledge of ICT and at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, C++...)
*   2+ years of laboratory experience in cell culturing or related field.
*   Knowledgeable about electrophysiological applications and tools commonly used in in-vitro neurobiology.
*   Knowledgeable about statistical analysis tools.
*   Proficient working in a Windows environment.
*   Full proficiency in English or first language English.
*   Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to diverse audiences through both written and oral communications.
*   Highly motivated self-starter and problem solver.

**Additional Qualifications**

*   Experience with either microelectrode array (MEA), calcium imaging or patch-clamp recordings.
*   Strong molecular and biochemical background.
*   1+ years of laboratory experience on cell-based assays for compound screening.
