CSEM is a private research, technology and innovation center specializing in microtechnology, microelectronics, system engineering and renewable energy systems. It offers its customers and industry partners custom-made innovative solutions.
Tasks
3Brain is currently developing, together with its partner CSEM, new post-processing for its innovative sensing chip technology and is looking to reinforce his team in this field with a full-time R&D Electroplating Technician. The working place will be Neuchâtel at the CSEM premises. This role combines technical execution with R&D responsibilities, aiming to increase production capacity while improving the quality and efficiency of our electroplating and planarization processes. Hands-on experience in a cleanroom environment is a strong advantage. Main responsibilities:
- Perform gold and copper electroplating processes on wafers, ensuring high-quality results.
- Conduct polishing and CMP (Chemical Mechanical Polishing) to achieve desired surface finishes and uniformity.
- Monitor and optimize electroplating and CMP parameters to improve process quality, consistency, and yield.
- Conduct experiments and trials to develop and refine electroplating and CMP techniques.
- Collaborate with the MEMS team to implement process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of processes, results, and improvements according to our quality standards.
- Follow cleanroom protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Process optimization using systematic approaches (DOE).
- Follow the state-of the art and development trends in the field of interest.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with electroplating, preferably on a microfab scale.
- Experience with polishing and CMP processes.
- A technical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize processes.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in both production and R&D settings.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
- Applicant must have an EU+EFTA residence permit.
Additional Qualifications
- French language.
- Master or PhD in a relevant field is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with cleanroom environments and protocols
- Basic understanding of microfabrication processes
- Experience with process optimization and quality improvement in electroplating and CMP.
- Knowledge of metrology tools used for process monitoring and quality control.
