We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Freelance Event Manager to plan and deliver our Mammutmarch endurance hiking events in Sweden. In this role, you will coordinate local partners, assess event routes, source suppliers, and take operational responsibility for the successful execution of our events.
At Mammutmarsch, we are more than the pioneers of extreme hiking in Germany. We are a movement. Every year, we inspire thousands of people to leave their comfort zones, push their limits, and achieve things they never thought possible.

Tasks
Your Responsibilities
- Communicate and coordinate with local authorities, municipalities, venues, and other relevant parties
- Represent Mammutmarch professionally and confidently in all interactions with stakeholders, partners, and suppliers
- Schedule and attend on-site meetings, venue inspections, and negotiations
- Assess hiking routes in terms of safety, accessibility, logistics, participant experience, and overall appeal
- Identify, evaluate, and coordinate suitable suppliers for event infrastructure, equipment, signage, catering, and other operational requirements
- Prepare and coordinate all operational aspects of the events
- Manage event delivery on site and ensure smooth, safe, and high-quality execution
- Act as the main point of contact for partners, suppliers, authorities, and the operational team before and during each event
- Respond quickly and pragmatically to unexpected challenges on event days
Event locations: Mainly Stockholm, Göteborg (potentially assistance with events in København and Aarhus) On-site presence at the events and travel are required
Requirements
- Proven experience in event management, ideally within outdoor, sports, endurance, or large-scale public events
- Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
- Professional and confident stakeholder management
- A hands-on, solution-oriented approach and the ability to work independently
- A strong understanding of event safety, logistics, and operational planning
- Willingness to travel and attend on-site appointments
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in dynamic event environments
- Fluency in Swedish and English
