Backend Engineer

Wunder Mobility builds the software that powers shared mobility worldwide. Our platform runs 20M+ successful trips yearly, processing 50M+ daily API calls, across 500 cities in Europe, the US, and Asia. Operators like Forest (London), Green Mobility (Copenhagen), and Joco (NYC) rely on us every day to move cities forward.

As a Backend Engineer, you'll be a crucial part of our team, helping us build a reliable software that never sleeps. You'll design, develop, and maintain the backbone of our platform using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka and more.

Please note: This is an on-site position based in Banja Luka

What you will do

• Own your code: Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build for scale: Implement REST APIs that are secure, efficient, and can handle massive traffic.
• Shape our product: Contribute to the architecture and design of our evolving platform.
• Be a problem solver: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with a creative mindset.
• Collaborate and grow: Work closely with a talented team and share your expertise.

What you bring to the table

• Java expertise: You're a Java pro with hands-on experience in Spring Boot.
• API mastery: You can design and implement robust, well-structured REST APIs.
• Database knowledge: You're comfortable working with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Cloud-native experience: You understand microservices and have worked with technologies like Kafka and Kubernetes.
• Ownership: You are proactive and take full ownership of your initiatives.
• Communication skills: You are a strong communicator, and you know how to keep your stakeholders in the loop.
