At Valcon Technology, you’ll be part of an experienced team of engineers working on smart, scalable cloud solutions. We combine consultancy with hands-on delivery: one day you’ll design cloud architectures, the next you’ll be building CI/CD pipelines or optimising containerised infrastructure. What will you do?

As a (Senior) Principal Azure Cloud Engineer, you work at the intersection of technology and business. You’ll take technical ownership of the full cloud engineering lifecycle – from gathering requirements to designing, building, implementing and continuously improving scalable, secure and future-ready Azure solutions.

You apply best practices in cloud architecture, optimise CI/CD pipelines and build cloud-native infrastructure – often involving real-time integration of systems and applications. You help clients make the right decisions regarding tooling, automation and platform strategy. You guide stakeholders through technical decisions, support teams in adopting new technologies and deliver solutions with direct business value.

You’ll also play a key role in professionalising our cloud capability. You help define standards, tooling and ways of working, support colleagues in their development, and actively contribute to pre-sales and the growth of our capability – in the Netherlands and beyond. Whether you want to build a team, go deep into tech or grow into a thought leadership role: we’ll give you the space to make it happen.

Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

• Designing and implementing scalable, cloud-native solutions on Azure
• Delivering technical architecture and guidelines to clients
• Optimising CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure (e.g. with Bicep or Terraform)
• Leading and coaching teams – sometimes across multiple clients
• Advising clients on tooling, integration and architecture choices
• Contributing to pre-sales, standardisation and team development
• Strong focus on your own growth and career development

Experience:

• A completed technical degree (HBO, Bachelor or Master);
• At least 4 years of experience in a relevant cloud engineering or DevOps role;
• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure;
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm);
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, CircleCI);
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. Terraform, Bicep or Pulumi);
• Experience with Azure services such as Logic Apps, Service Bus, Function Apps, Load Balancing and Linux environments;
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Prometheus or Grafana);
• Strong communication skills, analytical thinking and a true consultancy mindset;
• Proactive, eager to learn, and motivated to help build a growing team;
• Fluent in Dutch and English;
• Based in the Netherlands.
