Are you a certified Yoga Therapist passionate about serving those who served? We are currently seeking a qualified, part-time Certified Yoga Therapist to join our team for an upcoming federal opportunity supporting Veteran populations.
Please Note: This position is a part-time W2 role and is contingent upon contract award. We are proactively building our team and collecting resumes so we can hit the ground running upon official award.This is a 100% remote, virtual position. All services will be conducted via secure video teleconference (VTC) using the VA WebEx platform.
Tasks
- Direct Patient Care: Provide direct patient contact via live virtual platforms, conducting individual or group-based yoga therapy sessions for Veterans enrolled in the Integrative Headache Clinic (IHC) in Neurology.
- Tailored Instruction: Deliver sessions consisting of a maximum of 50 minutes of yoga therapy, which includes education on the benefits of yoga for headaches and instruction specific to the needs and abilities of the individual Veteran.
- Clinical Documentation: Utilize provided VA equipment to input electronic medical record documentation, ensuring encounters are entered the same day as the visit and clinical notes are completed within 2 days of the visit.
- Care Coordination (Admin): Be available to conduct direct patient care support activities, including virtual consultations with the Whole Health/IHC team, service planning meetings, and required VA training.
- Patient Safety & Protocols: Verify Veteran locations and the presence of any other individuals at the start of each virtual session, facilitate yogic tools (breathwork, meditation, movement), and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
Requirements
Certification: Must be a graduate of a professional, accredited yoga therapy training program and hold a current certification through the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).
Background Check: Must be able to pass the background check prior to onboarding.
Tech Proficiency: Highly proficient in video conferencing
Vetting & Credentialing: Must be able to successfully pass a VA background investigation (Low Risk/Non-sensitive) and complete credentialing through VetPro prior to providing care.
Mandatory Training: Ability to complete required MEDVAMC training classes.
Physical Readiness: Must meet the physical requirements to perform yoga instruction safely without physical restrictions.
Compensation & Pay Structure
This position utilizes a dual-rate compensation structure to accommodate virtual VA scheduling:
- Administrative/Support Rate: $35.00 / hour
- Applied to authorized team meetings, clinical consultations, and required training modules.
- Instruction/Class Rate: $75.00 / per class session taught
- Includes the 50-minute virtual instruction block and same-day electronic medical record documentation.
