Business Development Intern - 100%

Tethys Robotics develops innovative robotic solutions for subsea inspection & investigation operations in challenging conditions. We serve clients such as governmental organizations, large asset operators and industrial service providers operating in high-demand and mission-critical environments.

As an ETH Zürich spin-off, we are a fast-growing pioneer in underwater robotics, rooted in Switzerland. Backed by strong funding and entering an exciting phase of international growth, we are looking for a driven and entrepreneurial person to help scale Tethys Robotics.

This is not just about selling robots. As our Business Development Intern, you will get hands-on exposure across sales, marketing, business development, field operations - supporting customer conversations, helping run field demonstrations, and bringing technical understanding into how we position our robots to customers.

This role is ideal for someone with a technical background (engineering, robotics, or similar) looking or even started to move into business and commercial work. No sales experience is needed - what matters is curiosity about how technology becomes business, strong people skills, and the drive to learn fast in a startup environment.

Your Contribution

• Support the sales cycle in our priority markets: prospecting, outreach, qualifying leads and preparing customer meetings and bring market insights back into the team

• Join customer visits, online meetings, trade shows, and live field demonstrations of our technology

• Help create pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, and demo materials

• Help plan and run trade show and demo logistics (booth, invites, follow-ups)

• Help mapping new market segments, track competitors, and size opportunities in priority regions
• Draft LinkedIn posts, newsletters, or website/blog copy to support demand generation
• Help maintaining our CRM data and sales pipeline (HubSpot)

Your profile

• Curious, structured and proactive, comfortable owning tasks end-to-end - both independently and as part of a team
• Currently studying or recently graduated in a related technical field (engineering, robotics, computer science, or similar) or business field
• Genuine curiosity for robotics, sensor technology, or maritime technologies, paired with excellent communication skills and intercultural competence
• Fluent in professional English and German, both written and spoken; other languages are a strong advantage.
• Flexibility for occasional national and international travel to visit customers; driver's license is a plus.

And finally: joy and ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up team, and motivation to work in challenging outdoor conditions!

Bonus points if you bring:

• Previous internship, project, or thesis experience related to robotics in the maritime sector
• First experience with CRM tools such as HubSpot
• Already studying or worked in the field of business development

• Hands-on experience across sales, business development, and key account management in one of Europe's most ambitious underwater robotics startups.
• Direct mentorship from founders, engineers, and our business team, with real ownership from day one.
• Exposure to live demos, international trade shows, and a global customer base.
• A dynamic team and a modern office in the Zurich area, close to both the city and the lake.
