Electronics Technician

Employee
Hardware Design

We're growing our hardware operations and are looking for a practical, organised, and curious person to support the day-to-day running of our electronics, production, and operational workflows.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work across inventory, device preparation, distribution, repair, refurbishment, and production support. You'll gain experience in how a real hardware product is built, tested, shipped, maintained, and improved, while working closely with our engineering and operations teams.

Whether you've worked with electronics before or simply enjoy practical problem-solving and learning new skills, we'd love to hear from you.

Tasks

Electronics & Production Support

  • Prepare, configure, and test devices and accessories for internal use, pilot deployments, and customer shipments
  • Support production runs by kitting parts, and following test and assembly processes
  • Carry out practical bench tasks such as basic assembly, functional checks, and light rework where appropriate
  • Record build, test, and repair outcomes clearly so the wider team has accurate visibility
  • Flag recurring faults, quality issues, or process gaps to engineering and operations teams

Inventory, Distribution & Operations

  • Receive, organise, and book in incoming stock, parts, and accessories
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and help with stock counts, stock movements, and low-stock alerts
  • Pick, pack, and dispatch devices, spares, and accessories to customers and internal teams
  • Support returns, reverse logistics, and refurbishment workflows
  • Help keep the electronics lab, stock areas, and production spaces organised, safe, and efficient

Repair & Continuous Improvement

  • Triage returned devices and support repair, refurbishment, and retest activities
  • Follow documented processes for fault finding, inspection, and repair escalation
  • Help improve internal checklists, trackers, and simple operational documentation
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams to keep devices moving smoothly through build, repair, and fulfilment workflows

Requirements

Even if you don't think you match every point below, we'd still encourage you to apply. We're looking for someone who's keen to learn, reliable, and enjoys practical, hands-on work.

Essential

  • An interest in how products are made, tested, repaired, and improved
  • Careful, methodical working habits and strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable carrying out practical, hands-on tasks consistently and to a high standard
  • Organised and reliable, with the ability to keep accurate records and follow established processes
  • Confident using spreadsheets and everyday software tools
  • Able to communicate clearly with teammates and ask questions when something is unclear
  • Happy working across a variety of tasks, including product assembly, testing, inventory, fulfilment, and general operations
  • Keen to learn new skills and take on unfamiliar tasks
  • Able to work part-time and attend in person regularly for hands-on work

Desirable

  • Experience with electronics, soldering, repair, assembly, or other practical technical work
  • Familiarity with workshop or lab equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, or hand tools
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, fulfilment, logistics, repair, production, or technician-style roles
  • Experience following documented processes or quality procedures
  • Experience writing or improving checklists, work instructions, or internal documentation
  • An interest in embedded systems or learning more about electronics hardware
  • A full UK driving licence

Benefits

  • Flexible part-time working
  • Hands-on experience across electronics, production, repair, and operations
  • Exposure to a fast-moving hardware startup and the opportunity to learn from a cross-functional team
  • A supportive, feedback-driven team with a strong DIY mindset
  • Learning and development support
  • Broader Tended benefits can be discussed at offer stage and will depend on the final contract structure

Hiring Process

  • In-person interview at our Lincoln office at a time that suits your schedule
