Commercial Operations Manager

Sales

Every large company is trying to make better decisions with the data it already owns. Most hit the same wall. Strategy lives in one system, sales in another, the market model in a consultant's spreadsheet, and the plan in a deck nobody has opened since the offsite. By the time a regional head knows a segment has moved, the quarter is gone. The data exists. It just never arrives anywhere a decision is being made.

STRATOS was built to solve this problem. We work with global B2B companies to synchronize strategy and execution and ensure commercial success is driven by potential, not gut feel or old data.

STRATOS is a category-defining, rapidly growing startup funded extensively by high-profile investors (e.g., Accel) and trusted by nearly a dozen global industrial leaders and Fortune 500 customers. Our software integrates complex datasets into a unified solution, combining deep data integration, best-in-class workflows, and cutting-edge generative AI.

We're looking for a highly organised, resourceful Commercial Operations Manager to be the operational backbone of our commercial team. You'll keep our processes sharp, our knowledge captured, and our customer rollouts running like clockwork — working across teams and directly with our co-founders as we scale. If you spot the gaps before anyone else and build the systems that hold everything together, this role is for you.

Tasks

The role. You are the operational backbone of our commercial team. You own how we deliver: the playbooks our Commercial Product Managers run customer rollouts from, the knowledge base that holds what we have learned, and the processes and templates that keep quality consistent as the team grows. You work across commercial, product and engineering, and directly with our co-founders.

This is not a traditional project management role. You are not tracking other people's tasks — you are deciding how the work should be done and building the systems that make it happen. The gaps you find are yours to close.

The roles you'll play

  • Owner of the playbooks — design and maintain how we run a customer rollout, from onboarding through to ongoing value delivery, and improve it after every engagement.
  • Keeper of what we know — build and curate the internal knowledge base, capturing the insights and the mistakes from customer work so the next team doesn't repeat them.
  • Architect of how we work — establish the repeatable processes, templates and workflows that let a growing team deliver consistently excellent work.
  • Conductor across teams — coordinate workstreams across commercial, product and engineering so nothing falls between them, and distil the patterns into recommendations that improve the next rollout.
  • Right hand to our senior executives — take on the operational, finance-related and other priorities that matter at this stage, including the ones nobody has scoped yet.

Requirements

Who this is for. We hire for judgement and follow-through. Most people who do well here have three to five years in operations, business operations, programme management, consulting or a chief-of-staff role — but we are open about where yours comes from.

  • You see the gap before anyone else does, and you close it without being asked.
  • You write clearly. You can turn something messy into a document other people can follow, and you keep it current rather than letting it rot.
  • You hold the detail and the direction at once — you notice the missing field in the template, and you know why the template exists.
  • You are comfortable telling a founder that something isn't working, and comfortable being told the same.
  • You would rather build the system once than solve the same problem five times.

This probably isn't for you if you want a defined remit handed to you, or if you would rather run a process someone else designed.

Benefits

What We Offer

  • Equity through our stock option programme, so you share in the long-term success and growth of the company
  • A highly competitive salary
  • High visibility and direct work with the co-founders from day one
  • Close mentorship from experienced operators — our team is small enough that this happens in person, not through a training curriculum
  • Private healthcare with BUPA
  • Pension scheme
  • 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Work from abroad — up to four weeks a year, and up to two weeks at a time
  • Hybrid office policy in our Farringdon office, with visa sponsorship available
  • A company committed to social and environmental responsibility — we pledge to be a net-zero CO₂ company and donate 1% of our revenue to social causes

Practicalities

  • London-based, 3 days a week in our Farringdon office
  • German is a plus, and not a requirement

The process

  • First round with our Talent Lead — 30 minutes
  • Technical case interview — 45 minutes
  • Hiring manager interview — 30 minutes
  • Senior exec interview – 30 minutes
  • Final stage with our CEO — 45 minutes
