Since its founding in 1988, Stampin' Up! has specialized in the design and production of high-quality stamps, punches, ink, paper, and other accessories. The products are distributed through a network of independent sales consultants, the Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. Today, there are more than 50.000 demonstrators in the United States and Puerto Rico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Austria, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Tens of thousands of people around the world are using Stampin' Up! products to express their creativity through handmade cards, paper crafting projects, memory keeping, and home décor. In Europe Stampin’ Up! coordinates all important activities around stamping from Frankfurt am Main/Neu-Isenburg.
Tasks
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage monthly and annual accounting close cycles to meet both U.S. GAAP and local statutory reporting deadlines.
- Establish and maintain office accounting processes and procedures in coordination with the corporate office for EU and UK entities.
- Assist with annual budgets.
Compliance & External Coordination
- Coordinate with external accountants to ensure timely and accurate statutory accounts, VAT returns, income tax filings, and trade tax filings.
- Administer relationships with third-party service providers (auditors, tax advisors) across European countries.
- Monitor compliance with new regulatory requirements, such as e-invoicing.
- Lead all external audits.
- Responsibility for the German statistics reporting (Bundesamt für Statistik).
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop accounting team members (currently a team of 2 persons).
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment aligned with company values.
- Encourage collaboration, continuous improvement, and process efficiency.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
- Several years of experience in accounting/finance, including supervisory responsibilities; international experience required. Strong understanding of accounting issues related to international operations.
- Familiarity with audit and tax reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and/or IFRS.
- Experience with ERP systems, Oracle JD Edwards a plus.
- Proficient in English and German. French language skills desirable.
- Knowledge of the direct selling business model of advantage.
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to perform a variety of tasks.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external partners.
- Team player; open-minded towards other cultures; co-operative leadership style.
- Some travel occasionally required for company events within Europe and the United States.
