Your Role
As a Monitoring Field Technician (m/f/d), you will play a key hybrid role at the intersection of technical service operations and system monitoring. You will support both on-site commissioning and maintenance activities as well as centralized system diagnostics and error resolution. Acting as a liaison between internal teams, external partners, and customers, you ensure technical availability, support fault identification, and actively drive issue resolution.
Your mission
Field Operations & Technical Coordination
- Assist with system installations, on-site service interventions, and commissioning processes (FAT/SAT)
- Act as technical lead during site commissioning in coordination with energy utilities (EVUs)
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and technical partners during on-site activities
- Ensure proper documentation and feedback on field operations to support continuous improvement
Monitoring & System Diagnostics
- Analyze system data from the monitoring platform to identify faults and performance deviations
- Create and manage internal error tickets and actively drive cross-functional resolution
- Escalate and track technical faults to development teams with detailed documentation
- Map and document faults in a structured fault-tree format to support root cause analysis
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding incidents, updates, and technical resolutions
Your profile
Education & Background
- Completed electrical apprenticeship (elektrotechnische Ausbildung), technical degree, or qualification as a Master (Meister) or State-Certified Technician (Techniker)
- Preferably with experience in the battery energy storage (BESS) or related energy sector
Technical Expertise
- Electrical and control system knowledge, including system commissioning and troubleshooting
- Fundamentals of modern networking technologies, including understanding of IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6), subnetting, routing, and switching
- Network protocols: Proficiency in TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP(S), MQTT, Modbus/TCP
- Network configuration & troubleshooting: Setup and maintenance of LAN/WAN/VPN connections, including router, switch, and firewall configuration
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret monitoring data and identify system anomalies
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and coordination abilities across teams and partners
- Structured and proactive approach to problem-solving and documentation
- Willingness to travel for on-site operations and work flexibly in a hybrid environment
