SQUAKE

11-50

WHO WE ARE
Fighting climate change by building a radically more sustainable future on earth is the biggest challenge humanity has ever faced.
Founded in the heart of Berlin, SQUAKE empowers companies and people around the world to make sustainable travel and logistics decisions - and act on them.
Our platform delivers precise carbon calculations for every type of activity (flights, car rides, hotel stays, freight, and more) aligned with leading national and international standards - helping companies measure and avoid carbon emissions. We streamline carbon compensation through a curated network of climate partners delivering high-quality removal and avoidance projects.
Global leaders like Siemens, BCD Travel, Airbnb, and KfW already trust SQUAKE to measure and act on their emissions.
The Finance team is at the heart of SQUAKE’s financial & strategic operations. We own both the day-to-day - invoicing, tax & compliance, expense management, month-end closing - and the bigger picture: P&L and investor reporting, cash flow management, BI dashboards, and KPI monitoring. We put meaning behind the numbers.

Tasks

We're looking for a Finance & Operations Associate to run our processes and help us scale as we grow. This is a hands-on role where you'll learn the full breadth of finance operations at a fast-growing company. You'll take ownership of some of our core finance operations with the support of the team - and have real space to redesign how repetitive work gets done with AI.

Run the invoicing engine - manage accounts receivable and payable, issue invoices, track who to invoice and when, follow up on overdue payments, and keep the cash cycle clean.

Support month-end close and recurring finance operations - accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, payroll, and regular touchpoints with our tax accountant to keep us compliant and audit-ready.

Start automating across finance workflows - with team support and proper AI tooling, you'll design and deploy AI agents that handle the repetitive work: invoice follow-ups, inbox triage, client request routing, Salesforce-driven invoicing triggers, close checklists.

Keep our finance data trustworthy - work with Salesforce, Google Sheets, and Looker Studio to maintain the BI dashboards that already exist, and help build new ones as the team's needs grow.

Work cross-functionally - collaborate with commercial, tech, and product stakeholders to plug finance into the systems that drive the business.

Take on ad-hoc projects - investor reporting, cash flow modelling, pricing analysis, whatever the moment calls for. The work expands with what you can handle.

Requirements

You have very strong attention to detail and work through problems meticulously - we test for this in our hiring process.

You are intrinsically motivated to build with AI - open to learning and exploring AI tools and excited to design agents that automate the repetitive parts.

You are comfortable with numbers, financial modelling, and the core tools (Excel, Google Sheets). Prior experience with SQL and Salesforce is a big plus.

You possess excellent analytical skills and can communicate complex financial information clearly - in fluent English (and are comfortable with at least understanding some German).

You thrive on ownership and are ready for both the creative and mundane work that comes with a scaling company.

You have at least one prior role or internship in accounting, FP&A, controlling, or a similarly fast-paced environment (VC, startup, or equivalent), and a Bachelor's degree in a finance or quantitative discipline. Master's is a plus.

You are passionate about sustainability and climate action - and want your work to reflect that.

Benefits

Work on a problem that actually matters. Your work directly helps global companies measure and reduce their carbon impact at scale.

Join a tight-knit, high-performing team where everyone has a position and plays it well - and where every voice counts.

Take on exciting, challenging work alongside skilled, ambitious teammates who'll push you to raise your game.

Grow with us as the company scales - we're committed to coaching and developing everyone on the team.

A bright, modern office in the heart of Berlin - the kind of place you'll actually want to come into, and not just for the free coffee and beverages.

A public transport ticket or several mobility options via NAVIT.

Regular team events, offsites, and the kind of crew you actually want to hang out with.
