We're seeking a **Head of Hardware/Mechanical Engineering** to lead our hardware division, collaborating closely with our CTO. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing our innovative autonomous transport platforms and associated devices, aimed at enhancing patient care, improving operational efficiency, and reducing healthcare costs.

## Tasks

*   Lead the strategic development and execution of our people and material transport device portfolio, including autonomous and protective vehicles.
*   Build, guide, and mentor a high-performing mechanical engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
*   Collaborate with key stakeholders, including hospital administration, clinicians, and patients, to ensure the solution meets diverse needs and exceeds expectations.
*   Oversee the entire lifecycle of our product's system design, development, testing, and validation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (IEC60601-1, VDA 5050, etc.).
*   Proactively manage quality control according to ISO13485, and address technical challenges and risks throughout the development process.
*   Liaise with external partners and suppliers for seamless integration of hardware and software components.
*   Continuously monitor technological advancements and industry trends to inform product development and strategic decision-making.
*   Manage project budgets and timelines effectively to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery.

## Requirements

*   Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a related field.
*   At least 6 years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. Startup experience is advantageous.
*   Proven track record in autonomous vehicle systems, robotics development, or automotive, preferably in healthcare contexts.
*   Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (ISO, IEC, MDR, FDA).
*   Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and innovative skills.
*   Strong leadership qualities with experience in mentoring engineering teams.
*   Effective communication and interpersonal skills, fluency in English (German proficiency is a plus).
*   A passion for harnessing technology to improve healthcare and patient experiences.
