Solvi Digital is a B2B marketing agency built for industrial businesses. We work with manufacturers, construction firms, engineering companies, renewables and utilities businesses, logistics operators and specialist trades across the UK.
Most of these businesses are good at what they do and have been trading for decades, but new customers struggle to find them. Their website does not bring in enquiries, and their growth still depends on reputation and repeat work. We sell them marketing that is measured on pipeline and revenue.
We are hiring a Sales Development Representative to book first meetings between industrial decision makers and our sales team. You will spend most of your day on the phone, calling into industrial sectors we have already mapped, with email and LinkedIn used to follow up.
Your job is done when a qualified prospect joins a meeting with our Business Development Manager or Sales Director. They run the meeting, write the proposal and close the deal. You will work closely with both of them and report to the Sales Director.
This is a high-volume role with one objective, which is to create real commercial opportunities.
Making high-volume outbound calls every day into our target industrial sectors
Reaching out to owners, managing directors and commercial, sales and marketing directors
Running short qualifying conversations to find out whether there is a real problem and a reason to talk now
Booking first meetings into the diaries of the Business Development Manager and Sales Director
Following up by email and LinkedIn so that booked meetings go ahead
Writing a handover note for every meeting so the person taking it knows the prospect's situation before they join
Logging every call, conversation and meeting in Pipedrive
Telling us what you hear on the phone, such as objections, timing and which sectors are responding, so we can improve the targeting and the scripts
You will not be building an outbound process from scratch. Ours is already in place and it works. The data and targeting are mapped and the call approach has been tested on industrial buyers. Your part is getting enough of the right conversations and making sure the meetings you book take place.
At least 5 to 6 qualified meetings booked every week
At least 75% of booked meetings taking place (your sat rate)
Daily call activity and conversations logged in Pipedrive
How many of your meetings turn into proposals and new clients
At least one year in an outbound role with daily call targets, such as SDR, BDR, appointment setting or telesales
Very strong on the phone. You are comfortable cold calling senior people all day, and you enjoy it
A record of hitting or beating meeting or activity targets
You can hear no all day and still make the next call well
Good written English for follow-up emails and handover notes
Organised in a CRM. Experience with Pipedrive, HubSpot or similar helps
Experience selling into industrial, manufacturing, construction or B2B services is useful but not essential
Commission is paid on meetings sat. A meeting counts as sat when the prospect turns up, and the meeting goes ahead with our Business Development Manager or Sales Director.
You need 14 qualified meetings sat in a calendar month before meeting commission is paid. That sits just below what our minimum of 5 booked meetings a week at a 75% sat rate produces, so a month with one slow week still pays. Once you reach 14, every sat meeting that month earns commission, counting from the first one.
Meetings 1 to 17: £35 each
Meetings 18 to 21: £50 each
Meetings 22 and above: £70 each
The higher rates for meetings 18 onwards apply in any month where at least 70% of your booked meetings took place. In a month below 70%, every sat meeting pays £35.
On top of that, you earn £100 for every new retained client and £50 for every new project client that comes from a meeting you booked.
What a month looks like:
13 meetings sat: no meeting commission
14 meetings sat: £490
18 meetings sat: £645
20 meetings sat: £745
24 meetings sat: £1,005
Plus any new client bonuses.
In your first two months, the minimum is lower while you settle in: 8 sat meetings in month one and 11 in month two, then 14 from month three.
