Shayp is a Brussels-based water intelligence company operating across nine European countries. We combine IoT sensors and AI-powered analytics to detect water inefficiencies and leaks in commercial and industrial buildings — helping utilities, insurers, real estate portfolios, and corporates dramatically reduce waste and cost.
We think of ourselves as the operating system of water: a multi-stakeholder data platform that sits at the intersection of sustainability, infrastructure, and smart buildings. With a lean, driven team and strong commercial traction, we are now entering our next growth phase — and the DACH region is a strategic priority.
We are looking for a commercially driven, native German-speaking Business Developer to open and grow our presence across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Based in Belgium and working closely within our Brussels headquarters, you will own the full sales cycle for the DACH market: from prospecting (with the help of a leadgen team) and relationship-building to contract negotiation and handoff to our customer success team.
This is a hunter role. You will be building a pipeline largely from scratch with the help of the Brussels' team in a market where Shayp's value proposition is highly relevant but not yet widely known. You are the person who will change that.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the DACH region, targeting commercial real estate, facility managers, and industrial facilities.
- Identify, qualify, and close new enterprise accounts through direct outreach, events, partnerships, and referrals.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline in CRM (HubSpot), maintaining accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Lead commercial negotiations and work with internal teams to structure deals that meet client needs and Shayp's growth objectives.
- Represent Shayp at industry events, trade fairs, and client meetings across DACH — with travel expected regularly.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO, Head of Operations, and Product team to relay market feedback and adapt the value proposition for DACH clients.
- Develop strategic partnerships with local distributors, facility management companies, water utilities, and real estate groups.
- Contribute to pricing, product localisation, and go-to-market materials for the German-speaking market.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who combines the tenacity of a true hunter with the credibility to navigate complex enterprise sales. You are fluent in the language and culture of the DACH business world — literally.
Must-haves
- Native German speaker — written and spoken (C2 / mother tongue level).
- Minimum 4–6 years of enterprise B2B SaaS sales experience, with a proven track record of closing mid-to-large deals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles (6–18 months).
- Based in Belgium, with the ability and willingness to travel frequently to DACH countries.
- Strong command of English (working language of HQ); French is a plus.
- Comfortable with a startup environment: autonomous, resourceful, and energised by building something new.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience selling to real estate, facility management, utilities, or sustainability-focused verticals.
- Existing network of decision-makers in DACH corporate, real estate, or infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with IoT, smart building, or ESG reporting platforms.
- Experience working with or for a scale-up at Series A / B stage.
Benefits
What We Offer

- Direct access to and collaboration with the founding team.
- Flexibility to work remotely with regular in-person collaboration in Brussels.
- A culture that values impact, excellence, autonomy, and continuous learning.
