Medical Equipment Manufacturing

ShanX Medtech BV

11-50

ShanX MedTech BV (SXMT, NL) is a dynamic company dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare through innovative diagnostic tools. Our journey began with a deeply personal experience: the founder's mother's near-fatal struggle with a poorly treated bacterial infection. This ignited our mission to transform infection management, propelling us to develop pioneering solutions that prevent unnecessary suffering.

At SXMT, impact is paramount. We're proud to introduce our groundbreaking rapid antibiotic susceptibility testing device, poised to redefine how bacterial infections are treated. Our goal is clear: to equip healthcare professionals with the means to make informed treatment decisions swiftly and accurately. Through our innovative solutions, we're combating antibiotic resistance, enhancing patient outcomes, and saving lives.

This role combines Controller, strategy and a traditional CFO, bringing a strong strategic perspective while remaining highly hands-on in execution. It is ideally suited for someone with the ambition and potential to grow into a CFO position as the company scales.

Join us in shaping the future of healthcare, where every moment is vital in the fight against bacterial infections. This is an exceptional opportunity to join us in our early stages and play a pivotal role in our future success.

Tasks

What you'll do

Own and build the company’s finance function end-to-end, combining hands-on execution with strategic leadership. This includes running day-to-day financial operations, developing budgets and forecasts, and translating business and R&D plans into clear financial scenarios.

Bookkeeping, financial controlling and manage accountants and proper cost booking

Manage grant, loan and subsidy finances, ensure compliance with relevant regulations and implement scalable processes and controls.

Support fundraising by preparing financial models, data rooms, and investor materials, while ensuring accurate and timely reporting to investors, the board, and funding bodies.

Director responsibility.

This role is designed with a clear pathway toward director-level responsibility and strategic leadership within the company. While the first few months will focus on mutual alignment, integration into the team, and building a nice foundation together, the intention is for you to transition into a Director position once we jointly conclude that it is the right next step.

As a key partner to the CEO, you will provide data-driven insights on hiring, financial management and growth decisions, while laying the financial foundation for future scaling and a transition toward CFO-level responsibilities.

Requirements

Experience

Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field

3–5+ years of experience in roles such as financial controlling, FP&A, transaction services, or startup finance.

Familiar with Dutch accounting standards (Dutch GAAP) and have a good understanding of financial reporting and compliance in the Netherlands.

Experience in a startup or scale-up environment is highly preferred, particularly with exposure to financial modeling, budgeting, and investor-facing work.

Familiarity with fundraising processes, grants or public funding (e.g. EU or national programs), and working in a regulated or deep-tech environment is a strong plus.

A Dutch post-master qualification such as RA (Registeraccountant) or RC (Registercontroller) is a plus, but not required. We also welcome candidates with backgrounds in audit (Big4), transaction services, consulting, or startup finance.

Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills.

Familiarity with medical/diagnostic device development is a plus.

Fluent in English is a must; Dutch is a plus but not mandatory depending on experience and seniority.

Most importantly, you bring a hands-on mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ambition to grow into a CFO role as the company scales.

Benefits

Perks and benefits

A dynamic and collaborative environment where your ideas and initiatives directly impact company success.

Initial salary range at full time is EUR75.000-EUR90.000 with additional performance-based bonuses and equity. At director level this will increase to reflect the position. Upon evolution to CFO the salary will once again change substantially.

You get to set the financial frameworks as you see consider best.

If you're ready to drive meaningful impact and be part of a team that's changing the game, we want to hear from you! Apply now by sending your resume and a cover letter detailing why you're the perfect fit for the role.
