Design and Architecture

At Routine Labs, we are building Europe’s first secure, auditable, and EU-compliant automation infrastructure for legacy systems. We're taking a practical approach to improving how people work with AI systems, combining LLMs with established software engineering methods to make it easier to build, modify, and maintain software automations. Our platform reduces the effort required to turn natural-language instructions into deterministic, testable code that can interface with and automate legacy systems.

Design plays a central role in making this complexity understandable, controllable, trustworthy and a pleasure to work with for users. From the product interface to the brand system that surrounds it, our goal is to build a calm, precise, and reliable design language.

We’re hiring a Working Student Design (Product & Brand) to support both the product experience and the visual identity of Routine Labs.

Tasks

  • Support the design of product interfaces such as forms, workspaces and dashboards.
  • Create UI components and maintain and develop our design system (typography, colour, spacing, components).
  • Translate product requirements into clear interaction flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity screens.
  • Contribute to brand design across website, social, presentations, and marketing assets.
  • Prepare design assets for handover and collaborate closely with engineers during implementation.
  • Help maintain visual consistency across product, website, and communication materials.
  • Support user-facing content such as interface patterns and UX copy.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree related to design, HCI, interface design, or similar. Strong visual and interaction design fundamentals.
  • Experience with Figma, Lovable and modern interface design workflows.
  • Understanding of basic UX principles such as hierarchy, clarity, and usability.
  • Ability to work across both product UI and brand design.
  • Strong attention to detail and structured thinking.
  • Comfortable working in English.
  • Nice addition: experience with design systems, motion/interaction design, Claude Code, MCP-workflows, frontend-engineering.

Benefits

  • Direct collaboration with the founding team, especially the CPO
  • Possibility to closely collaborate with Founders who build award winning products and apps
  • Flat hierarchies and quick decisions
  • Immediate involvement in operational business
  • Hands-on experience in building an AI startup from the ground up
  • Learn in one year what takes five years elsewhere
  • Opportunity to take on real responsibility

Join the team shaping the design foundation of a company redefining how legacy software gets automated.

We value diverse perspectives and welcome candidates of all genders, identities and backgrounds.
