Rec Hub is supporting AVIV Group with hiring for a Senior Backend Engineer to build and operate backend services running in cloud environments.

The Role

This is a hands-on backend role for engineers who enjoy shipping production services and keeping them healthy. Cloud experience matters because you will deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot live systems.

What you’ll do

• Build and evolve backend services in TypeScript (Node.js), focusing on clean APIs, reliability, and performance.
• Deploy services in a cloud environment and own day-to-day operation.
• Work with common cloud primitives (compute, storage, container orchestration) to run services effectively.
• Use observability tooling to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production systems.
• Make sensible security and cost decisions for the services you own.

What we’re looking for

• Strong backend engineering experience with TypeScript in production (Node.js).
• Experience owning services end-to-end: build, deploy, monitor, improve.
• Practical experience with CI/CD and deployment practices.
• Solid monitoring and observability mindset and evidence of production troubleshooting.
• Cloud experience on AWS or another major provider (Azure/GCP) with clear ability to translate concepts.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes or managed container platforms (EKS/AKS/GKE or equivalent).
• Experience with serverless patterns and cloud storage services.
• Experience in distributed systems or high availability environments.
• Experience with common Node.js backend frameworks (e.g., Express, NestJS) and API patterns.
