We’re looking for an experienced Geo Data Engineer to join a European‑wide Data & Engineering function focused on large‑scale spatial modeling and applied research. The team combines data science, systems design, and geospatial computation to deliver advanced analytical and mapping capabilities across multiple products and research initiatives.

- Industrialising a spatial classification pipeline deployed across several European markets.
- Building and optimising an address suggestion and validation API for high‑volume environments.
- Designing a national‑scale geographic database and deploying it via an interactive mapping platform.
- Redesigning monitoring and alerting systems for hundreds of production data pipelines.
- Developing a high‑volume routing engine for internal research applications.
Tasks
About the Team
You’ll work alongside engineers, analysts, and researchers with deep expertise in:
- Computational and spatial data processing
- Geocoding, vector modeling, and web‑mapping frameworks
- Data extraction, transformation, and integration at scale
- Distributed systems and software architecture
The team partners with academic and technical experts in mathematics, statistics, and machine learning to design scalable, cloud‑based platforms for spatial data analysis, visualization, and automation.
What You’ll Do
- Design and maintain pipelines, databases, and tools to process geographic and spatial data.
- Develop quality‑monitoring and enrichment scripts using Python, Jupyter, and SQL.
- Integrate external data sources to enhance location‑based models and datasets.
- Collaborate with product, data, and engineering stakeholders to solve spatial challenges.
- Drive prioritization and delivery of initiatives related to foundational spatial datasets.
- Contribute to cloud and automation workflows supporting large‑scale data operations.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate
You bring a balance of technical strength, curiosity, and adaptability, with experience in:
- GIS tools and data manipulation (QGIS, geocoding, coordinate systems, projections).
- Clean, efficient code in Python and analytical queries in SQL.
- Familiarity with Pandas, Airflow, Terraform, and similar data or DevOps tools.
- Comfort working in cross‑functional teams of engineers, researchers, and analysts.
- Interest in large‑scale European spatial data integration and modelling.

- Core stack: Python, Docker, Airflow (MWAA), PostgreSQL (RDS Aurora), OpenSearch, Terraform, CircleCI, Datadog
- GIS technologies: PostGIS, GDAL, QGIS
