Senior Product Manager

Amsterdam, Netherlands (hybrid)
Employee
Product Management
€ 70.000 to € 80.000 / year

Location: Rotterdam or Amsterdam (hybrid)

Contract: Interim assignment

Salary: Up to €80,000 gross per year, based on 40 hours, excl. holiday allowance

About the Role

Our client is expanding its digital energy product offering: from electricity and gas to home batteries, heat pumps, and future bundled products. Customers increasingly struggle to understand which product fits their situation, especially when multiple products are combined.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who will lead a complete discovery track focused on improving online sales and retention flows. Your work will determine whether a new strategic product team will be launched in April. You will not manage engineering delivery; this assignment is 100% discovery-focused.

You will collaborate closely with a dedicated data analyst to understand customer behavior, quantify funnel issues, and identify where customers get stuck when choosing or buying products.

Tasks

What You Will Do

  • Lead the discovery work for online sales and retention journeys.
  • Identify the biggest customer problems across commodity and non-commodity products, including potential future bundles.
  • Analyse funnel behavior with a data analyst and quantify where and why customers drop off.
  • Deep-dive into pricing, compliance rules, technical constraints, and current operational decisions to build a unified overview.
  • Turn a broad and ambiguous problem space into clear problem definitions and a grounded, data-supported business case.
  • Work closely with the Group Product Manager and Customer Growth leadership team to validate direction and ensure the right problems are prioritised.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, specifically in online sales flows, funnels, complex product selection, or long-term purchase journeys.
  • Proven discovery mindset: strong questioning, assumption testing, structured thinking, and ability to bring clarity to ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with funnel data, experimentation, and quantification.
  • Curiosity and resilience: you dive into technical, operational, and regulatory detail and push through obstacles to uncover the truth.
  • Clear, straightforward communication and the ability to challenge respectfully.
  • Independent, structured, ownership-driven way of working.

Benefits

  • Salary: Up to €80,000 gross per year, based on 40 hours, excl. holiday allowance
  • FlexBudget / Benefit Budget on top of base salary, which you can tailor to your situation (for example, extra leave or additional payout).
  • Hybrid working and flexible hours, with a structured office/home mix that supports work-life balance.
  • Good pension scheme with employer contributions.
  • Travel cost reimbursement for commuting.
  • Discounts on gym membership and other lifestyle benefits.
  • Plenty of development and internal mobility opportunities, including trainings, coaching and a broad internal vacancy landscape across the full energy value chain.
