At Qmesa, we are currently building our Business Intelligence Platform from the ground up – this is true pioneer and greenfield work. We are looking for a committed team member who will become an integral part of this journey. The role requires a high degree of independent and self-driven work, as you will take ownership of tasks in a fast-evolving environment. ## Tasks

As a working student, you will play an important role in developing the backbone of our Business Intelligence Platform for risk models in the European power and gas markets. Specifically, you will:

*   Design and set up a PostgreSQL database as a core component of the platform.
*   Automate data imports from various sources (APIs, XML, CSV, etc.) at different frequencies (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly).
*   Integrate our existing Python-based risk models into the BI workflow.
*   Create and further develop Grafana dashboards to visualize results.
*   Contribute to the design and implementation of an MCP (Model Context Protocol) setup to connect our platform with modern AI applications.
*   Ensure data quality, consistency, and proper documentation.
*   Collaborate closely with our quantitative analysts and consultants as a permanent part of the team.

## Requirements

*   You are enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
*   Proven, hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (or other SQL databases).
*   Solid, practical knowledge of Python (e.g., pandas, numpy, API handling).
*   Experience with dashboard creation (preferably with Grafana).
*   Interest in European energy markets and risk analytics.
*   Curiosity to learn about new standards such as MCP and enthusiasm for AI integration.
*   Independent, structured, and reliable working style is essential.
*   Strong communication skills in English (German or another European language is a plus).
