On the behalf of a client, we are hiring a medior Cloud Engineer. The client is a Dutch scale-up in energy technology that creates smart home energy solutions — hardware, apps, and cloud platforms — that give consumers real-time insight into their energy usage. Examples include:

Energy monitors & plugs → track electricity usage of appliances.

Water meters & gas meters → provide insights into total household consumption.

Solar monitoring tools → measure solar panel yield and efficiency.

Mobile app & cloud backend → show analytics, alerts, and recommendations to optimize usage.

All development (hardware, firmware, software, and cloud) happens in-house, meaning tight integration between engineering teams.
🏢 Culture & Team

Around 60–80 employees across engineering (cloud, hardware, app), marketing, and support.

Atmosphere is described as close-knit, innovative, and informal — colleagues eat lunch together, go for walks, and join company outings.

Strong emphasis on personal growth, innovation, and fun, making it feel like “a second family” for many employees.

Employees are encouraged to take ownership of their own development and ideas.

Tasks

Cloud Infrastructure (GCP): You’ll set up, manage, and optimize Google Cloud environments, ensuring stability, cost efficiency, and 99.99% uptime.

Automation & DevOps: Heavy emphasis on Infrastructure as Code (Kubernetes, Terraform), CI/CD (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD), and security (IAM, secrets management).

Monitoring & Reliability: Using Grafana, LinkerD, and performance dashboards to detect, analyze, and resolve issues quickly.

Collaboration: Working closely with developers and cross-functional teams to ensure cloud-native applications run smoothly.

Requirements

3+ years as a cloud engineer (mid-level)

HBO working/thinking level

Knowledge of cloud architecture & best practices

Hands-on with GCP, Kubernetes, Linux, databases

Good Dutch language

Benefits

Salary: €4,000 – €5,000/month (full-time)

Profit-sharing scheme (collective bonus)

Pension plan

25 vacation days + 8% holiday allowance

Travel expense reimbursement

Choice of MacBook or Windows laptop

Training opportunities for growth

Free daily lunch (weekly “deluxe” option)

Regular team/company outings
