We are seeking a responsible, organised, and proactive Driver Supervisor who graduated from University between 2022 and 2024 to oversee the day-to-day activities of company drivers and ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the company's transportation activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising drivers, coordinating schedules and assignments, monitoring vehicle usage, ensuring compliance with road safety and company policies, and maintaining accurate transport records.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, as well as a good understanding of vehicle and driver management.
Tasks
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of assigned drivers.
- Allocate drivers and vehicles according to operational requirements.
- Monitor driver attendance, punctuality, performance, and conduct.
- Conduct regular briefings with drivers on assignments, safety, routes, and operational requirements.
- Ensure drivers comply with company policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Address driver performance issues and escalate serious or recurring matters to management.
- Monitor the availability, condition, and utilisation of company vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and roadworthy.
- Coordinate routine vehicle inspections and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor fuel consumption and identify unusual or excessive usage.
- Ensure vehicle documentation, insurance, roadworthy certificates, and other statutory requirements remain valid.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, breakdowns, and maintenance requirements promptly.
- Prepare and manage daily driver and vehicle schedules.
- Coordinate transportation requirements for staff, clients, materials, and other operational activities.
- Monitor driver movements and ensure assignments are completed within agreed timelines.
- Optimise routes and vehicle utilisation to improve efficiency and control operating costs.
- Respond promptly to changes in schedules or urgent transportation requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from a recognised university, preferably obtained between 2022 and 2024.
- Degree in Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Management Studies, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Valid Ghanaian driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 1–2 years' experience in transport coordination, fleet management, logistics, driver supervision, or a related operational role.
- Previous experience supervising drivers or field-based personnel will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Ghanaian road safety regulations and transportation practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Experience with fleet management or GPS tracking systems will be an advantage.
