The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and act as a strategic partner to the Chief Executive Officer.
The role holder will be responsible for translating business strategy into measurable operational outcomes by overseeing daily operations, improving business systems, strengthening internal structures, driving performance excellence, and ensuring sustainable growth across multiple markets.
The COO will provide leadership across departments, subsidiaries, and business units while ensuring operational discipline, efficiency, accountability, and alignment with the organization’s vision.
Tasks
- Partner with the CEO and Executive Team to develop and execute the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Translate corporate strategy into actionable operational plans, milestones, and performance indicators.
- Lead business transformation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, scalability, and growth.
- Ensure operational priorities are aligned across all departments and markets.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, improvement, and competitive advantage.
- Provide strategic recommendations to support executive decision-making.
- Oversee company-wide operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and service excellence.
- Develop and implement operational policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
- Establish performance metrics to measure business effectiveness.Monitor operational performance and introduce corrective actions where necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.Ensure business activities meet quality, compliance, and performance expectations.

Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
- MBA, MSc, or equivalent postgraduate qualification required/preferred.
- Additional executive leadership certifications will be an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years’ progressive professional experience.
- Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer, Head of Operations, Managing Director, General Manager, or similar executive role.
- Experience leading complex or high-growth organizations.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-market or cross-border operations, preferably within Africa.
- Experience working with executive boards and senior stakeholders.
