Join Lassie, one of Europe’s fastest-growing InsurTech companies, transforming pet insurance across Sweden, Germany, and France. Backed by $75 million in Series C funding, we’re on a bold mission to redefine the pet insurance experience, making it smarter, more transparent, and truly built for modern pet parents. If you’re excited about high growth, real impact, and building something category-defining, Lassie is the place to do it.
Lassie is scaling rapidly across Europe, and with increased regulatory complexity, Legal is becoming a core enabler of our growth. We are now looking for a Legal & Compliance Manager to join Lassie on an interim basis, covering a period of parental leave from May 2026 to 1 February 2027.
This role is part of Lassie’s Legal & Compliance team and reports to the Head of People & Talent during the parental leave of the Head of Legal, who remains the functional manager of the role.
You will work closely with the existing Legal & Compliance team across Lassie’s markets. This is a broad, hands-on role where you will take ownership of a wide range of legal and compliance workstreams across the group, from day-to-day operational support to longer-term regulatory projects. This is a genuine opportunity to make a real impact at a critical time in Lassie’s growth.
Location requirement: This role is based in Stockholm, and candidates must either be located in Stockholm or be able to visit our Stockholm office at least twice - thrice per week.
Regulatory & Compliance You will be the primary owner of our IDD-related work across all markets, including reviewing and updating our IDD training programme and compliance trainings at group level. You will monitor regulatory developments, manage legislation implementation (including DORA), and handle ongoing education, tests, and registrations with authorities.
Commercial & Operational Legal Support You will be the go-to for legal questions from across the business, supporting Operations, Tech, Marketing, Ecosystem, and other teams with day-to-day legal matters. This includes reviewing and negotiating agreements (partners, ambassadors, tech-systems), advising on T&Cs and product documentation.
Governance & Risk You will own our legal governance framework during this period, including lawyer governance and cost control, the risk matrix, our annual legal wheel and AML & KYC-related matters. You will also coordinate audits and due diligence processes at group level.
Tech & Information Security You will support the business on tech-legal matters, including data processing agreements (DPAs), cloud and SaaS contracts, and information security-related legal questions. You will also help establish and document internal processes for how Lassie enters into and manages critical IT agreements, ensuring we have clear, scalable ways of working as we grow.
AI & Legal Innovation
You will play a key role in shaping how Lassie leverages AI within Legal & Compliance, including evaluating tools, establishing best practices, and ensuring responsibility and compliance across the organisation.
Policies & Governing Documents A key priority for this interim period is to take ownership of our internal policies and governing documents to ensure that they are best in class and implemented in all aspects of our operations.
