Orbit is on a mission to reinvent logistics, transforming it into a seamless, efficient, and 'automagic' experience. We're changing the way companies operate in this sector with our modular, cloud-native platform. Our vision is to make logistics better through technology. But we can't do it without you!

The philosophy of our tech stack is to maximize efficiency and scalability. We achieve this by being as serverless as possible, utilizing cloud-native primitives, endorsing an event-driven asynchronous design with a unified event broker, and ensuring low maintenance is a built-in characteristic.

We're currently on the hunt for a talented and passionate Full Stack Engineer who shares our vision and is excited to join our remote, but close-knit team.

Tasks

Your Role & Impact

As our new Full Stack Engineer, you'll play an essential role in building our logistics operating system, which is designed to streamline operations and automate workflows. Your focus will be creating smooth and intuitive user interfaces that resonate with our design ethos of clarity of thought and outside-the-box thinking. You'll be diving into our tech stack, which includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Amazon Web Services, among others.

Requirements

Who You Are

  • You're a TypeScript ninja with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences. Matt Pocock might be your hero, and if you've ever found yourself binge-watching dev streamers or exploring TypeScript frameworks like Zod and tRPC, you're our kind of person!
  • Distributed systems and event-driven design are your playground. You bring a robust, high-quality approach to your code, and you're a firm believer in best practices like test-driven development, automated testing, pair programming, and code reviews.
  • You're at home in the cloud, confident in working with AWS or comparable technologies.
  • You're not just a coder: you're involved in the entire software lifecycle, from conception and requirements analysis to architecture and testing.
  • You thrive in a cross-functional, agile team environment.
  • Fluent in German 🇩🇪 (or English 🇬🇧)

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Practical experience with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially CDK and SST.
