As our wireless technologies continue to evolve and earn multiple awards, with funding for the next phase secured and strong commercial traction demonstrated, we are now looking to onboard a talented Junior IT Helpdesk Technician to provide technical support to end users, maintain and troubleshoot IT systems and equipment, and contribute to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our organization's technology environment.
Tasks
End-User Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for all hardware, software, and connectivity issues raised by staff across global offices.
- Log, prioritise, triage, and manage support tickets through to resolution using the ITSM platform.
- Resolve first and second line issues independently, escalating only where senior technical intervention is required.
- Provide onsite and remote assistance to employees, including setup and troubleshooting of laptops, peripherals, and communication tools.
- Manage and maintain printers, AV equipment, and meeting room technology across office locations.
- Support video conferencing and collaboration tools including Microsoft Teams and Zoom, ensuring reliable operation for a globally distributed workforce.
- Provide IT support for visitors and contractors in line with company access and security policies.
- Deliver a professional and responsive support experience in line with agreed SLAs.
- Administer SharePoint Online sites, permissions, and sharing policies, including site provisioning and external access management.
Identity & Access Management
- Manage user account lifecycle in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including creation, modification, and deprovisioning.
- Administer group memberships, distribution lists, and shared mailboxes in Microsoft 365.
- Support SSO and MFA enrolment and troubleshoot authentication and access issues for end users.
- Manage and reset credentials and access permissions in line with company security policies.
Endpoint & Device Management
- Enrol and configure devices in Microsoft Intune across Windows and macOS.
- Apply and monitor security policies, compliance profiles, and configuration baselines.
- Deploy software and updates across the device fleet via Intune.
- Troubleshoot device compliance issues and report on endpoint security status.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT hardware assets across global offices.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Execute the IT onboarding process for new starters, including hardware provisioning, account setup, and software access.
- Coordinate hardware shipping for remote and international new starters.
- Carry out full IT offboarding, ensuring timely deprovisioning of accounts, access, and device recovery.
- Provide IT inductions for new employees, ensuring they are set up and productive from day one.
Knowledge Base & Documentation
- Maintain and continuously update the IT knowledge base with accurate, clear, and useful support articles.
- Document recurring issues, resolutions, and workarounds to reduce repeat escalations.
- Contribute to the development of IT policies and standard operating procedures as directed by management.
Asset & Software Management
- Maintain and update the IT asset register, tracking hardware across its full lifecycle from procurement to disposal.
- Support software licence tracking by maintaining accurate records and flagging upcoming renewals and compliance issues to management.
- Flag obsolescence risks and ageing hardware to management for review and action.
Requirements
Education
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
- Relevant certifications and practical experience will be considered equally.
Experience
- Some hands-on experience in an IT support or helpdesk role, including internships or placements.
- Demonstrable ability to resolve first and second line issues independently.
- Experience working with end users in a professional environment.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) user and group management, account lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune for device enrolment, policy management, and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 applications including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with Windows and macOS desktop environments.
- Experience using an ITSM/ticketing platform for logging, managing, and resolving support requests.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
Certifications
- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals desirable.
- Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator advantageous but not required.
- CompTIA A+ desirable.
- ITIL Foundation desirable.

- Strong communication skills with a professional and patient approach to end-user support.
- Good troubleshooting mindset methodical, thorough, and able to work through problems independently.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple open tickets and priorities simultaneously.
