Mortgages are one of the largest financial decisions most people ever make - yet the process is still slow, paper-heavy, and confusing. Oper was founded to fix that.

We're a European Fintech on a mission to make home financing faster, smarter, and more human. Our AI driven product enables lenders to offer fully automated, transparent, and personalized mortgage journeys, helping borrowers secure their dream homes without the stress.

Oper is backed by leading investors including Bessemer Venture Partners and Motive Ventures. Our technology is already trusted by top financial institutions across Europe and has proven to increase digital conversion rates, speed up mortgage decisions, and improve accuracy, all while integrating seamlessly with existing banking systems.

We're a team of ambitious, curious, and passionate people who love what we do and take pride in doing it well. We move fast, think bold, and genuinely enjoy building something that matters.

Now, we're looking for an AI-Native Senior Program Manager to lead one of our largest client programs and help shape the future of automated mortgages in Europe and beyond.

Tasks

As AI-Native Senior Program Manager, you own Oper's side of a multi-year transformation program at a major banking client in the CEE region. It's a large, complex delivery: two to four squads running in parallel on different streams, staffed with Oper engineers and business analysts alongside consultants from our implementation partners.

You are the single point of accountability for that program. You keep the streams pointed in the same direction, make sure the right people are on the right work at the right time, guard the budget and the financials, and keep the administration tight enough that nobody has to guess where the program stands. You report to Oper's Head of Customer Success and work side by side with the client's program leadership.

What you'll do

  • Set and hold the direction. Translate the client's roadmap into a coherent program plan across all streams, keep the squads aligned on outcomes and dependencies, and intervene early when a stream starts drifting.
  • Manage capacity. Forecast what each stream needs, staff it with the right mix of Oper people and partner consultants, and make the trade-off calls when demand exceeds supply.
  • Own the budget and the financials. Track burn against budget per stream, forecast, spot and qualify change requests, and keep the program commercially healthy - no surprises for Oper or the client.
  • Run the administration. Governance cadence, steering committee material, RAID and decision logs, reporting, timesheets and contractual follow-up - done consistently and on time.
  • Hold partners accountable. Manage our implementation partners as genuine delivery partners: clear expectations, measured output, honest conversations when quality or pace slips.
  • Be the client's counterpart. Build trust with senior stakeholders on the client side, own escalations, and be the person they call when something matters.
  • Work AI-native. Use AI across your own work - reporting, planning, analysis, documentation - and push the same way of working into the squads you lead.

Requirements

What you'll bring

  • Proven track record delivering software programs in banking or fintech - you know how banks work, how their governance and compliance cycles run, and how to move a program forward inside one. Mortgage or lending experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience running a program with multiple parallel squads and streams, not just a single project or a single team.
  • A background in consulting or systems integration - you're comfortable on the client side of the table, coordinating partners and managing scope in a commercial relationship.
  • Fluency in English; Hungarian is a real plus.
  • Based in or near Antwerp, and happy to travel to Hungary every one to two months.
  • Genuinely AI-native in how you work, or clearly on your way there - you already reach for AI tools by default and want to keep pushing that further.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Creative and analytical mindset
  • Ambition to learn, experiment, and grow while staying humble and open-minded

Bonus points if you

  • Have owned program P&L, margin or commercial change management
  • Know the CEE banking market
  • Have worked in an agile-at-scale setting (SAFe, LeSS or equivalent) without being dogmatic about it
