We seek a skilled and dedicated public relations intern or volunteer to join our team in supporting children's education and combatting ocean pollution. Our team is rowing across the Atlantic to raise awareness and funds for these causes. As a volunteer Public Relations Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and executing our organization's public relations and communications strategy. You will work closely with the fundraising and social media teams to develop and execute effective communications plans that promote our mission, causes, and journey.

## Tasks

*   Develop and execute a comprehensive public relations and communications strategy for the organization
*   Work closely with the fundraising and social media teams to ensure consistency of messaging and branding.
*   Create and disseminate press releases, media advisories, and other materials to promote the organization's mission and causes
*   Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and other media contacts
*   Respond to media inquiries and arrange interviews with members of the organization

## Requirements

*   Commitment to volunteering at least 5 hours per week
*   Passion for supporting children's education and combatting ocean pollution
*   Strong understanding of public relations and communications principles and practices
*   Strong writing and editing skills
*   Experience with media relations, including pitching stories and securing coverage
*   Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
*   Willingness to actively contribute to and adapt to a changing team and process
