__ROLE PURPOSE__

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Bid/Tender Manager to join our team. In this role, you will manage requests for tender documents, serve as a subject matter expert in tender response strategy, and collaborate closely with various specialists within our teams. Your responsibilities will also include writing and submitting comprehensive tender responses.

You will work closely with the CEO & the Partnerships Team to analyse bid requirements and specifications, ensuring full compliance throughout the process. The ideal candidate will excel in tender preparation, market and product research, and possess strong corporate writing skills. Additionally, you should be adept at producing high-quality visuals, presentations, and documents.

If you are detail-oriented, skilled in strategic analysis, and have a proven track record in bid management including developing high-quality, winning bids, proposals, and tender responses. This position requires a blend of writing skills, diligent research abilities, and a keen understanding of the competitive landscape, we would love to hear from you.

Key Deliverables

Your primary responsibility will be to write high quality bid responses for new tenders. You will be responsible for introducing and coordinating the bid response process, developing and maintaining a knowledge base of ‘standard’ answers and templates, as well as identifying ways to improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of the bid response process.

To do this effectively you will need to liaise with other teams and stake holders to ensure submissions are made on time and to the required quality.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills, especially written English grammar, spelling & vocabulary, combined with the ability to understand technical concepts and tender questions then provide clear concise responses whilst working to tight deadlines and challenging targets. Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential.

## Key Responsibilities

* Identifying potential bids and tenders through market research and industry insights.
* Compile, edit, and proofread commercial proposals which contain technical content and designs ensuring that these are presented in a professional and concise manner.
* Writing, editing, and proofreading bid responses, ensuring they meet quality and compliance standards i.e. PQQ, RFI, RFP, ITT.
* Review and revise documents prepared by others and coordinate the preparation of those materials in a completed bid document
* Determine the scope and timeline of new bids.
* Lead and coordinate the preparation of the bid ensuring that other contributors provide information on time to the correct standard answering the client’s needs.
* Develop knowledge of business, its products and services by reading and review previous bid and design documents and spending time with pre sales, technical and commercial functions.
* Develop computer based document store and reference materials. Review and improve other customer materials and develop a consistent set of standards for other commercial functions to follow
* Develop a set of standard templates for less complex bids Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced staff

## ABOUT YOU

* Minimum of 2 years of experience in writing bid proposals within the private or public sector.
* A tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a high volume of commercial tenders within various timelines.
* Strong knowledge of bid writing principles and the ability to translate complex information across diverse subject matters.
* Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate business rationales.
* High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
* Writing experience in a technical/IT authoring field
* Technical awareness including an understanding of internet / network based solutions
* Understanding of the UK public and private sector buying process
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Able to work to tight timescales particularly when developing proposals
* Substantial experience using MS Office, G-Suite, Clickup including Word and PowerPoint.
* Team and action oriented; proactive in prioritising own work load and assigned areas of responsibility to others
* Able to influence assertively to get results
* Proven ability to multitask effectively, managing research projects, data analysis, and coordination with the executive team.

## Preferred:

* At least 3+ years of prior experience in a high-growth company or tech startup.
* Experience as a Bid Writer in the education or education technology industry.
* Proven success in winning significant bids and government tenders for education projects in the UK and internationally.
* A track record of winning proposals within highly competitive markets.
