Nalda EU GmbH

Category Manager E-Commerce (80-100%)

Remote
Employee
Purchasing, Materials Administration and Logistics
100.000 € to 300.000 € / year

Build your category from the ground up.

You know your market better than anyone else.

You know which suppliers are truly worth working with, which brands perform best, and which mistakes most retailers keep making.

Maybe you're currently working for a major retailer such as Amazon, Otto, Zalando, Allegro, Decathlon, ASOS, MediaMarkt, Saturn, Galaxus, Notino, Bol, or Douglas.

But perhaps you've reached the point where you already know exactly how things could be improved—yet internal processes, bureaucracy, or organizational hierarchies prevent you from making those changes.

That's exactly why we're looking for you.

Tasks

Your Mission

You'll build your category almost like it's your own business—and participate directly in the revenue you generate.

You bring your expertise, your supplier network, and your industry experience.

We provide the infrastructure.

What’s Already in Place

Most companies first have to build the technology.

Or establish the logistics.

Or create international operations.

We've already done all of that.

Here's what you'll find at Nalda:

  • World-class, fully in-house developed ecommerce technology
  • Lightning-fast supplier onboarding
  • Powerful automations across virtually every business process
  • Our own logistics center in Germany
  • Our own logistics center in Switzerland
  • Proven cross-border operations between the EU and Switzerland
  • Millions of existing products
  • A highly motivated, entrepreneurial team

You don't have to build the foundation.

You can start creating impact from day one.

Your Responsibilities

Your primary objective is simple: maximize the revenue of your category.

To achieve this, you'll take ownership of responsibilities including:

  • Identifying and acquiring new suppliers
  • Negotiating commercial terms and purchasing conditions
  • Building a strong brand portfolio
  • Expanding and optimizing the product assortment
  • Defining the pricing strategy
  • Optimizing procurement processes
  • Improving inbound logistics and goods receiving processes
  • Establishing KPIs, reporting, and category controlling
  • Developing the warehouse and inventory strategy
  • Building long-term relationships with manufacturers
  • Conducting market and competitive analyses
  • Driving the long-term growth of your category

In short:

You'll be the entrepreneur responsible for your category.

Requirements

What You Bring

We're not looking for specific degrees.

We're looking for experience:

  • Several years of experience as a Category Manager at a major ecommerce retailer
  • Deep expertise in a specific product category
  • Extensive knowledge of suppliers and the competitive landscape
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • An entrepreneurial mindset
  • A genuine passion for ecommerce

More important than your résumé is your expertise.

If you truly understand how your industry works, we'd love to hear from you.

Benefits

Why Nalda?

At Nalda, you can implement things in days or weeks that often take months or even years in large organizations.

Great ideas don't get stuck in endless management discussions.

They get executed.

When you identify a new supplier, we can often integrate them technically within a very short time.

When you want to improve a process, we build and implement the solution together.

When you want to grow a category, you get the freedom and ownership to make it happen.

And most importantly: Category Managers are among the most important people in our company. They make critical decisions about assortment, suppliers, procurement, pricing, and ultimately the success of their category.

That's why we don't compensate Category Managers like traditional employees. Instead, they directly participate in the success of their category—with a compensation model tied to the revenue they generate, offering the potential to significantly outperform typical industry compensation.

What We Offer

  • A high degree of ownership and autonomy
  • Fast decision-making
  • Modern technology
  • Flat hierarchies
  • Direct collaboration with the founding team
  • Attractive compensation with direct participation in generated revenue
  • Long-term growth opportunities
