Your Role as Technical Assistant Bioprocess Development

Using fungal microorganisms, we produce sustainable glycolipid biosolutions that have the potential to replace conventional surfactants or enable entirely novel products. For the development of cultivation protocols for fungal organisms and purification methods for the biosurfactants, we are seeking a motivated lab assistant. You will be working alongside Mycolever’s experienced Senior Bioprocess Engineer and gain hands-on experience in bioprocess development from lab to pilot scale.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Assistant in Bioprocess Development to help us drive our mission forward!

What the job involves:

• Preparation and optimization of growth media for various microorganisms
• Cultivation and maintenance of microorganisms under sterile conditions
• Purification and analysis of biocompounds
• Operation, monitoring, and maintenance of bioreactors
• Documentation and evaluation of experimental results
• Support of the development and optimization of fermentation processes
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams from research and development
• Maintenance of lab equipment
• Ordering of lab supplies, e.g. chemicals and consumables

Who You Are:

• Completed technical training (e.g., Ausbildung biologisch-technische Assistant) or a bachelor’s degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related discipline
• Experience in the preparation of growth media and the cultivation of microorganisms
• Proficient in sterile working techniques
• Knowledge in the handling and use of bioreactors is advantageous
• High level of diligence, reliability, and teamwork skills
• Good communication skills and a structured way of working
• Good command of English

Hiring Process

1. Initial Interview: A 30-minute chat with our Sr. Bioprocess Engineer to get to know you and discuss expectations.
2. Deep Dive Interview: A 60-minute on-site interview with one of our founders and Sr. Bioprocess Engineer to assess your skills and discuss your past projects.
