Mainframe Developer (Cobol)

Location: Guadalajara, Mexico (On-Site)

6months+ contract

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with COBOL and associated mainframe technologies to support, maintain, and develop business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using COBOL 6. (MUST)
• Work with RDAM and VSAM databases to ensure efficient data handling and processing.
• Manage and process file storage types, primarily DASD.
• Handle CICS (Customer Information Control System) for transaction management.
• Utilize ISPF/TSO environments for day-to-day development tasks.
• Write and troubleshoot JCL (Job Control Language) scripts for batch processing.
• Use ISPW for mainframe source code management and version control.
• Develop reports and perform data analysis using EASYTRIEVE.
• Utilize ZWEASY for additional programming and processing tasks.
• Work with ESP Scheduler and Control-M Scheduler for job scheduling and automation.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Unix and Linux environments is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Mainframe development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
