(Junior) Compliance Manager (data protection & security)

krisenchat is a nationwide, free support service for children and young adults in need. We are an agile non-profit organization and offer children and young people professional psychosocial counseling - every day, 24 hours a day, via Whatsapp or SMS. krisenchat has been available 24/7 since the beginning of May 2020 - since then, the 400+ crisis counselors have already been able to help in over 100,000 crisis situations - and the number of counseling sessions and employees is growing strongly every month. We are an interdisciplinary and dynamic team.

We work flexibly in our beautiful office in Berlin or from home.

• In the context of our web-based counseling, you will identify and prioritize potential risks and assist our technical management in the evaluation and further development of our data protection standards and IT security guidelines.
• As part of our anonymization and pseudonymization processes, you will work on the continuous improvement of our deletion processes.
• You create and manage technical, procedural and organizational measures in the area of data protection and security.
• Administrative tasks such as data preparation and entry as well as the preparation of reports are also part of your range of activities.
• You will work on the creation, updating and implementation of training events and documents to raise internal awareness of regulatory requirements.

• Successful (Bachelor's) degree in an IT-related subject or a related field or relevant professional experience
• Interest and ideally initial experience in working with databases, analyses and reporting (SQL, BigQuery)
• Ideally initial professional experience in the areas of compliance, data protection, IT security
• Interest and passion for regulatory requirements and standards would be a great advantage
• You feel comfortable in a dynamic environment and are willing to learn new things
• Comfortable participating in and contributing to meetings where only English is spoken. German language skills are also a must.
• We assume that you are confident with Google Worksuite or alternatively MS Office package.
