For our client in Zurich, we are looking for a Senior R Developer & Analytics Application Engineer.

In this project, you will support the modernization of a business‑critical analytics application used for Generalized Linear Models (GLM) in mortality studies and pricing activities. The goal is to redesign the existing user interface while maintaining compatibility with the current analytics engine, improving usability, stability, performance, and long‑term maintainability.

Deine Aufgaben:

• Analyze the existing application, architecture, and source code to identify modernization opportunities and technical improvements
• Define and propose a sustainable technical approach for the next generation of the application’s user interface
• Redesign and rebuild the GUI using modern, maintainable, and user‑friendly technologies
• Ensure seamless compatibility between the new frontend and the existing R‑based analytical and calculation models
• Improve overall user experience, workflow efficiency, and application usability
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve existing defects while increasing application robustness and reliability
• Evaluate and implement enhancements to analytical functionality and system performance where appropriate
• Create technical documentation, installation guides, and deployment instructions
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and provide handover support for internal users and support teams

• Collaborate closely with business users and stakeholders to deliver practical and effective solutions

Dein Profil:

• Several years of experience in R programming and the development of data‑driven applications
• Strong expertise in GUI development and modern web application technologies
• Experience in data analytics, statistical modelling, and analytical software solutions
• Solid knowledge of data visualization concepts and tools
• Experience with software architecture, application modernization, and code refactoring
• Ability to analyze existing systems and design scalable, maintainable technical solutions
• Experience with modern frontend technologies, ideally including R/Shiny, browser‑based applications, or comparable frameworks
• Structured, independent, and solution‑oriented working style with a strong focus on quality
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders
• Fluent in English, German is an advantage
