greenteg AG develops high-tech thermal sensing solutions for an international customer base. In addition to industrial sensors, we provide a unique core body temperature measurement solution (CALERA®) for wearable devices.

Our technology enables a wide range of applications, including sports performance optimization, continuous and non-invasive patient monitoring, ovulation tracking, sleep analysis, and early disease detection and is integrated by various international customers on different type of wearable devices.

All solutions are developed, manufactured, and commercialized at our headquarters in Zürich-Rümlang, where interdisciplinary teams collaborate across hardware engineering, embedded systems, and machine learning.

To strengthen our R&D team, we are seeking a Data Scientist Intern – Wearables & Sensor Data to help our customers along the way to successfully integrate our solutions into their wearable products. You need to understand the needs and demands of each customer and make sure that our machine learning models can meet their requirements.

Main tasks:

• Calibrate sensors and evaluate the performance of our machine learning models on customer devices.
• Plan and conduct data collection and validation studies.
• Analyze, visualize, and report model performance issues observed in real-world usage.
• Develop Python tools and pipelines to support customer integration and troubleshooting.
• Simulate model performance under varying sensor characteristics (e.g., noise, sampling rate, signal quality).
• (Optional) Support compilation and deployment of embedded ML libraries on target devices.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or currently enrolled) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field

Requirements

• Valid swiss work permit or EU/EFTA citizenship
• Strong proficiency in Python with experience in scientific and ML libraries (NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Solid understanding of data analysis, statistics, and machine learning fundamentals
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate real-world problems into robust solutions
• Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• English proficiency at C1 level

Nice to have

• Experience with signal processing or time-series data
• Familiarity with C programming or embedded systems
• Experience working with sensor data or wearable devices
