To get additional support for our production team, we are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer.
Location: Rümlang, CH.
Workload: 100%.
Starting date: preferably February 2026.
Tasks
The Manufacturing Process Engineer ensures robust, efficient, and scalable production processes by optimizing workflows, solving technical issues, and implementing continuous improvements. The role supports stable manufacturing performance through data-driven analysis, equipment and process validation, and strong collaboration with operations and quality teams. By maintaining compliance and driving operational excellence, the Process Engineer contributes directly to product quality, productivity, and reliability.
- Provide hands-on assistance in the manufacturing process chain, support and enable operators during manufacturing (ca 60% of time).
- Coordinate and plan the weekly production schedule, ensuring alignment with priorities and capacity.
- Define and initiate product quantities, versions, and production priorities to meet operational and customer needs.
- Maintain continuous manufacturing output by proactively addressing bottlenecks and deviations.
- Manage buffer levels and stock quantities, ensuring optimal flow and preventing shortages or overproduction.
- Apply and promote Lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve process efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to increase manufacturing processes operational performance, focusing on stability, yield and quality and to standardize work instructions, SOPs and process parameters.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production process optimization, or process development, ideally in a regulated industry (e.g., MedTech, Pharma, Biotech, Electronics).
Specific Skills & Competencies
- Strong ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize weekly production schedules.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing flows, processes, buffers, and stock management.
- Hands-on mindset being willing to work majority of the time on the production floor and support operators directly.
- Fast problem-solving skills and good analytical skills to ensure continuous production output and identify bottlenecks.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with production teams.
- Structured, reliable, and proactive approach to improving operational performance.
- Competence in maintaining technical documentation and ensuring process readiness.
- Languages: English C1, German or any language is a plus.
