We are a team of 37 enthusiastic and talented people from many different nationalities working together on the next-generation car marketplace. Our office is based in Zürich, Switzerland but our teams are working from different countries.

At GOWAGO, we have a cutting-edge technology stack that is constantly evolving. Our stack includes:

*   Main services are written in Typescript using Postgres, Elasticsearch, Redis etc.
*   Several microservices and Lambda functions are written mostly in Typescript but also in Python and Go
*   New services are based on an event-driven, serverless architecture
*   Our front-end is written in Typescript using the Next.js framework and hosted on Vercel
*   Our back-end is mostly hosted on AWS and we have modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code

## Tasks

*   Plan and implement new features on the backend in Typescript (or whatever other language is better suited for the task)
*   Come up with a sustainable and performant new architecture and decide on the right technology for the job
*   Work closely with the CTO to set up guidelines and processes for the engineering team to be as efficient as possible
*   Collaborate with the product teams and business stakeholders to define and create new amazing features
*   Help to solve hard problems the engineers in the team are facing and perform rigorous peer-reviews on the pull requests
*   Ensure that the codebase follows best practices including unit, integration and e2e testing
*   Monitor and maintain the current infrastructure

## Requirements

The following qualities are a must:

*   Eager to work in a young team with a lot of freedom, flexibility and responsibility
*   7+ years of experience working with web technologies
*   Solid knowledge of modern backend architecture
*   Experience with leading engineering teams
*   Very passionate about coding and technology in general
*   In-depth knowledge of Typescript and proficiency in web technologies
*   Engineering mindset
*   Fluent English speaker

Having the following qualities helps but is not strictly necessary:

*   Setup new infrastructure elements on AWS as code
*   Likes cars and is interested in the transportation and mobility of the future
