We deploy agentic AI systems that handle real insurance claims for DAX-listed insurers. Not demos. Not decks. Production.
We're hiring a Senior AI Builder to own the operational layer between our AI systems and our enterprise clients — across several accounts, from how claims get processed, to how quality gets measured, to how the team that runs it gets built. You own delivery, you own customer success, and you own the playbook that scales both.
You'll report to the founders (ex-BCG PLs) and work peer-to-peer with our engineering leads (ex-Amazon, ex-Meta). You'll sit across the table from C-level insurance executives. And you'll build the operational machine that turns our technology into a category-defining business.
Who We Are 🤖
We're inca — a venture-backed startup on a mission to revolutionize insurance claims through agentic AI.
- We bring agentic AI to the insurance industry with a no-bullshit approach, delivering cutting-edge results where others overpromise.
- The market is on fire: we're flooded with inbound interest from insurers eager to transform their claims processes.
- Our team combines former BCG Project Leaders, industry experts, and AI engineers from Amazon and Meta. Together, we're redefining how insurers operate in Europe.
- We're backed by top-tier VCs from one of the most competitive InsurTech Pre-Seed rounds in Europe.
Tasks
What You'll Own 💼
- The AI operating model. You set the standard for how inca uses frontier AI — what gets automated, how it gets reviewed, where humans stay in the loop, and why. You own the playbook, and you keep it ahead of where the models are going. You'll design and own the production workflows that replace manual work at scale — claims triage, communications drafting, structured data extraction, edge-case flagging. You'll set the architecture, define the quality metrics, and own the loop from output back to improvement. When something breaks at 2am, your system catches it — or you're already rebuilding it.
- Run delivery across several accounts. You'll own enterprise pilot launches end-to-end — from first claim to full operational rollout — across multiple insurers in parallel. You'll be in the room with the COO when something goes wrong, and the one whose name comes up when it goes right. You'll learn what separates a pilot that converts into a multi-million € annual contract from one that stalls — and you'll engineer the former by default.
- Own customer success. A pilot going live is a starting point, not a finish line. You own ongoing value realization across every account: defining the metrics that matter to each insurer, running QBRs that turn into expansion, surfacing new use cases before the client asks, and making renewal a formality. When a CFO at a DAX insurer asks "what did inca deliver this quarter," your numbers answer before the question lands. Expansion isn't a separate sales motion here — it's a function of how well you've delivered.
- Scale the function. You'll map every manual workflow on the path, identify failure modes, and design the automated systems that retire them. SOPs, review queues, AI pipelines, quality gates — you set the architecture and own the outcomes. The bar is DAX-grade: measurable, defensible, and ready for the next 10x of volume.
Requirements
What You Bring 📄
- 1-3 years in environments that demand both operational rigor and rapid build: top-tier consulting, IB or operations leadership at a high-growth startup
- A track record of building — not just running — operational systems: SOPs, quality frameworks, automation pipelines, team playbooks. Bonus for having built one of these in a regulated or enterprise-sales context.
- Real depth with Claude or comparable frontier AI tools — not just user-level, but architect-level: you've designed agentic workflows, run evaluations, debugged production failures, and have a sharp intuition for where models break
- Structured, analytical thinking; comfort with models, metrics, and translating outputs into decisions a CFO would sign off on
- Exceptional written and verbal communication — you write a crisp board update and a clear internal Slack with equal ease
- German and English fluency
Non-Negotiables ❗
- Client-first. The insurer is your client. Their success is your KPI. Their customer's experience is your quality standard. Expansion follows from value delivered — never the other way around.
- Quality-obsessed. AI output going to a DAX insurer's customers must be flawless. Every edge case matters. You don't ship and hope — you verify, measure, and own the number.
- Extreme ownership. You see a problem, you own it until it's solved. No hand-offs to nobody. No "that's not my job."
- Builder mindset, not manager mindset. You're senior enough to lead, but you're hands-on by default. The Lead in AI Operations Lead means setting the bar — not stepping back from the work.
Benefits
Why inca ⭐
- Timing. We're at the earliest stage of a category-defining company. The people who join now shape what this becomes — the operating model, the product, the team. That window closes fast.
- Compounding skill set. You'll be one of a handful of people in Europe building production AI operations inside a regulated, high-stakes industry. That's a rare combination today. In three years it's a defensible career.
- Real impact. No theater. Agentic AI handling real claims, at scale, for real customers. You'll see the output of your work in production within weeks — and on a DAX insurer's bottom line within quarters.
- Ownership culture. Build a scalable system → take on the next one. We promote on what you've built and what you can build next — not on tenure or title.
