We are seeking a passionate and experienced Data Scientist with a background in Bioinformatics to join our innovative team. The candidate will have a keen interest in genomics and cell-free DNA analysis, with a focus on extracting clinical useful information from whole-genome sequencing data. This position will be at the forefront of our pioneering work in non-invasive prenatal testing and research.
Tasks
Responsibilities
- Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large-scale genomic datasets,
- particularly related to cfDNA.
- Develop and implement advanced algorithms for the extraction of fetal information from
- maternal blood samples.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, clinicians, and engineers to
- understand project requirements and achieve objectives.
- Contribute to the design and execution of validation studies.
- Ensure data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing, including data
- harmonization, standardization, and analysis.
- Create visualizations and reports to present complex biological data in a clear and concise
- manner to stakeholders.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in genomics and
- Continually improve our existing methods and processes for data analysis to ensure we
- remain at the cutting edge of the industry.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications
- PhD or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computing science, Computational Biology, Genetics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data analysis with a focus on genomics and/or bioinformatics.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with statistical analysis and machine learning
- Proficiency in using bioinformatics programming languages such as Python or R, as well as familiarity with databases and web technologies.
- Experience with parallel processing.
- Experience with genomic data visualization tools and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex datasets and formulate innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated and curious, with a keen interest in keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Knowledge of non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT).
- Familiarity with clinical data management and regulatory requirements.
