We are seeking a passionate and experienced Data Scientist with a background in Bioinformatics to join our innovative team. The candidate will have a keen interest in genomics and cell-free DNA analysis, with a focus on extracting clinical useful information from whole-genome sequencing data. This position will be at the forefront of our pioneering work in non-invasive prenatal testing and research.

Tasks

Responsibilities

  • Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large-scale genomic datasets,
  • particularly related to cfDNA.
  • Develop and implement advanced algorithms for the extraction of fetal information from
  • maternal blood samples.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, clinicians, and engineers to
  • understand project requirements and achieve objectives.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of validation studies.
  • Ensure data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing, including data
  • harmonization, standardization, and analysis.
  • Create visualizations and reports to present complex biological data in a clear and concise
  • manner to stakeholders.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in genomics and
  • Continually improve our existing methods and processes for data analysis to ensure we
  • remain at the cutting edge of the industry.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • PhD or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computing science, Computational Biology, Genetics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis with a focus on genomics and/or bioinformatics.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with statistical analysis and machine learning
  • Proficiency in using bioinformatics programming languages such as Python or R, as well as familiarity with databases and web technologies.
  • Experience with parallel processing.
  • Experience with genomic data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex datasets and formulate innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated and curious, with a keen interest in keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT).
  • Familiarity with clinical data management and regulatory requirements.
