Your Mission

This is a company built for growth.

When you join exmox, you're stepping into a high-velocity environment where data is not just analyzed but turned into systems that directly drive business performance. You will operate at the intersection of data, engineering, and product, solving real-world problems in a space that demands both speed and precision.

We build high-performing consumer products in one of the most competitive industries: mobile gaming. As part of a company on a path of hyper-growth, you will help shape how data engineering becomes a core driver of our innovation, from smarter decision-making to scalable, production-ready data infrastructure across our platform.

If you are looking for a role where you only maintain existing pipelines or follow predefined processes, this isn't it. As one of our Senior Data Engineers (f/m/x) at exmox, you will build and scale the data foundation that powers our entire business. You will turn raw data into reliable, production-ready infrastructure, because here impact matters more than process, and if this sounds like the kind of challenge you are looking for, we want to hear from you.

What you’ll own

Data pipelines & integration You design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines on Databricks to integrate data from various sources including app and web products and marketing partner data, ensuring reliable and efficient data flow across the business.

DataLakehouse ownership You build and manage the DataLakehouse on Databricks including migrating legacy data products. You implement data transformations and processing logic using Databricks and PySpark to ensure efficient data handling and analysis.

Monitoring & optimisation You monitor and maintain the data stack for nightly and near-real-time processing of in-house tracking solutions, ensuring high performance and reliability. You continuously optimise and troubleshoot pipelines to ensure data quality and integrity.

Cross-functional collaboration You work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow and integration into the DataLakehouse and provide Tableau support for data analysts as needed.

Staying ahead You stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering, bringing new ideas and approaches to the team.

What You Bring

Technical foundation You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems or bootcamp experience with a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering.

ETL expertise You are proficient in designing, implementing and optimising ETL processes and orchestrating ETL workflows in production environments.

Tools & technologies You have hands-on experience with Databricks and AWS services such as S3, Kinesis and Lambda or similar technologies. Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with PostgreSQL are a plus.

Programming skills You are highly proficient in Python, SQL and PySpark for data manipulation and processing and write clean, maintainable and production-ready code.

Mindset & communication You have excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. You are fluent in English both verbally and in writing.

What You Can Expect

Ambitious people, real ownership. You’ll work with driven, entrepreneurial people who care deeply about what they deliver, challenge each other openly, and own outcomes together.

We’re playing at the top, but we’re not done. Our apps rank in the top 5 of their categories. We’re determined to push further, compete harder, and earn the number one spot.

You own your own growth. Growth doesn’t happen by accident. At exmox, learning is built into the work - through responsibility, feedback, and real challenges.

Perks that help you focus on what matters. Transport subsidy, learning budget, wellness and gym, workation, bi-weekly team lunches, and more. The perks are great - but the real reason people join and stay is the challenge, the people, and the drive to win together.

Please note: this is not a remote only position, we offer you a flexible hybrid model here in Hamburg, Germany - working from home on Mondays & Fridays, coming to the office on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday!
