As an R&D Intern, you will directly contribute to Everest's core scientific and technical development. You’ll support our research across materials science, chemistry, and physics—ranging from bench-scale analytical experiments to complex field trials in real-world conditions.

Reporting directly to our Head of R&D, an MIT-trained engineer and exprienced technical founder, this internship offers a rare opportunity to experience the full research lifecycle in a venture-backed climate deep-tech company—from hands-on experimentation to strategic synthesis of findings for product and field deployment.

Tasks

  • Conduct bench-scale physical and analytical chemistry experiments
  • Assist in preparation and execution of field validation campaigns for our sensor systems
  • Run controlled experiments in our test rigs and lab setups
  • Characterize new materials, resins, and chemical processes relevant to our sensors
  • Analyze experimental data and contribute to internal reporting and high-level R&D synthesis

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (completed or in final stages) in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or related field
  • Curious and driven personality, eager to learn and apply scientific thinking in a real-world tech setting
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, self-directed environment
  • Solid data analysis skills (preferably Python)
  • Bonus: Experience in sensor, or other measurement equipment calibration

Benefits

  • Competitive pay
  • Hands-on R&D experience at the frontier of climate tech
  • Exposure to both scientific fundamentals and real-world application of sensor technologies
  • A supportive company culture focused on climate impact as a team
  • A stellar team of ambitious engineers and scientists committed to learning, building, and solving for the planet

We Would Love to Hear From You

We understand that you might not fit all the requirements above perfectly. We envision our team to be as diverse as the solutions that will solve the climate crisis. Forming a compassionate workplace is a core part of our culture—welcoming all walks of life, experiences, and perspectives.
