We are seeking a highly motivated
Senior Legal Counsel Women’s Protection (m/w/d) (ID147)
remote, volunteer, unpaid, part time (10 hours/week)
must be a registered lawyer
You will build and lead EUSMS’ transnational Women’s Protection Program — ensuring that women across East Africa receive free legal support, access to justice, and representation when facing harassment, discrimination, or unlawful workplace practices.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Build and launch the Women’s Protection program in all EUSMS countries
- Recruit, train, and supervise local legal teams and case managers
- Develop and standardize global case management systems, tools, and protocols
- Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality, and compliance with national and international legal standards
- Liaise with Monitoring & Evaluation to define KPIs and measure program results
- Conduct outreach with NGOs, labor unions, HR networks, community groups, and employers
- Train organizations on women’s protection policies, compliance, and safe-workplace standards
- Build and maintain relationships with UN agencies, international NGOs, and women’s rights coalitions
- Collaborate on research, evaluation, and knowledge generation in protection and labor rightsSupport grant applications, donor engagement, and program growth strategies
