Role Mission
To lead the growth of ElbeFruit’s presence in the UK market for exotic fruits and vegetables. This role is focused on leveraging an existing commercial network to expand sales, secure high-quality supply chains, and position ElbeFruit as a trusted and competitive player in the UK fresh produce sector.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Market Expansion
- Leverage your network of suppliers and buyers to drive business.
- Secure repeat orders and grow the share of wallet across key accounts.
- Open and activate new customer accounts.
2. Trading Strategy & Margin Management
- Meet annual sales and margin targets.
- Maintain healthy and sustainable profit margins across all trading activities.
- Monitor pricing trends and timing to maximize profitability.
3. Sourcing & Supply Coordination
- Build and manage relationships with suppliers ensuring product quality and availability.
- Ensure supply diversity by sourcing from multiple reliable origins within each product category.
4. Account Management & Customer Satisfaction
- Maintain weekly cadence with top accounts.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through claim resolution and communication.
- Track re-order rates and actively manage post-sale performance.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with logistics, finance, and purchasing teams to ensure efficient execution.
- Act as the key commercial liaison for the UK market internally.
Requirements
Required Experience & Skills
- 10+ years’ experience in fruit & vegetable trading (UK market focus)
- Established portfolio of UK customers
- Deep knowledge of the exotic produce category and sourcing markets
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Independent, organized, and confident operating remotely
- Fluent English (Spanish would be a plus)
- Proficient in CRM systems and digital tools
