Job Description

ENTRY SALARY: €60,000–80,000 GROSS ANNUAL SALARY (DEPENDING ON PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS)

Are you an experienced DevOps engineer who feels at home with Kubernetes, GitOps, and cloud-native tooling? Do you want the freedom to work fully remotely while getting your hands on a modern cloud-native stack at an internationally successful software and education company? Then join us and help build a developer platform our engineers actually love to work with.

(!) Please do NOT apply without checking our and our company . We are looking for team members who share our vision and carry out our culture. Would you really like to work with us? And can you really live our values?

Who is Digistore24?

We are a fast-growing technology company with a clear vision: We shape the digital future.

Our mission? To empower people around the world to share their knowledge online and build their own successful businesses. With our platform, we enable millions of people to access valuable knowledge and provide them with the tools they need to truly achieve their goals.

What makes us special: We are a team of around 200 highly motivated employees who don’t wait for instructions but actively shape their day-to-day work and continuously improve it – just like our customers.

Our team is as diverse as our ideas: People from over 40 different countries of birth work together toward one shared vision. What unites us are our values, our drive, and our ambition to truly make an impact. We’re not big talkers – we’re doers. We love to perform.

As we continue to grow, we are expanding our teams in a focused and sustainable way and are looking for individuals who take ownership, think proactively, and want to shape the future with us.

Your new dream job

Platform Engineering: You build and evolve the internal platforms and self-service tooling that empower our developers to ship faster and more independently, think golden paths, paved roads, and a developer experience people actually enjoy. This is the heart of what we're building right now.

Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC): You automate repetitive tasks, deployments, and system management to reduce human error and improve efficiency: from writing scripts and CI/CD pipelines to automating infrastructure provisioning.

AI-Powered Tooling and Workflows: AI is part of your daily toolkit and part of what we build. You use AI-assisted tooling to move faster, and you help create AI-powered systems within our platform, from LLM-powered developer tools to autonomous systems like our AI SRE agent.

Reliability and Performance Optimization: You continuously improve system uptime by identifying bottlenecks and optimizing system architecture.

Capacity Planning and Scaling: You assess and predict system resource requirements (CPU, memory, storage) so the infrastructure scales with growing demand, and you implement auto-scaling solutions that handle load spikes without manual intervention: keeping systems performant under any conditions.

System Monitoring and Incident Response: You monitor system performance, uptime, and reliability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Elasticsearch to catch issues before they reach users. When incidents happen, you respond quickly to minimize downtime, including incident documentation, communication, and post-incident analysis.

Incident Postmortems and Continuous Improvement: You run root cause analysis after incidents to understand what went wrong and how to prevent it, then turn those learnings into fixes, improvements, and best practices that make the system more reliable over time.

Your benefits at Digistore24
At Digistore24, we believe that great people do their best work when they have true autonomy, clear goals, and a supportive environment. Here's what you can expect from us:

100 % Remote: Work permanently from home. All you need is a stable internet connection.

Are you permanently based outside of Germany? That's also possible with permanent employment in many European countries.

Work up to 170 days per year from other EU countries! (Other countries possible upon request).

Use the coworking spaces of our partner for up to 3 days per week.

Clear structures: Workwithin a flexible working hours model and in consultation with your team.

No rigid development plans: Your development is tailored individually to your strengths. On the job, you will deal with modern and relevant topics.

Flat hierarchies and short decision-making processes: The stability of an extremely successful German high-tech company that has retained its start-up spirit over the years.

Our founders are part of our team: We operate without external investors, relying on our own resources and reinvesting everything we generate.

Self-directed, results-oriented teams: Work in a corporate culture that emphasizes personal responsibility, autonomy and direct feedback, rather than micromanagement.

We will provide you with modern equipment for your work.

International, collaborative culture: Work with an international team of dedicated, bright minds.

Team Lunches with Lieferando credit.

Genuine human connection: Experience spectacular team events across Europe and build relationships that go beyond screens.

Ownership from day one: With us, you're not just a cog in the machine, but an important part of an A-player team and will be personally supported (and challenged!) by the team leader, including through monthly one-on-one meetings.

Work on a first-name basis within your team, without a dress code and on an equal footing.

Requirements

Your Superpowers

Tech stack (must-have):

Kubernetes & container technology: you're comfortable running and operating workloads in production

CI/CD: hands-on experience, ideally with GitHub Actions

Cloud services: solid experience with at least one major provider (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure)

Monitoring & observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, or similar

Agentic engineering: you're familiar with AI coding tools like Claude Code or OpenAI Codex

Communication Mastery: You communicate precisely and in a recipient-friendly way. You defuse potential conflicts with sensitivity and a solution-oriented mindset, and you always strike the right tone with stakeholders, developers, and your team — even under time pressure. Switching seamlessly between German and English is no problem for you.

Collaboration Wizardry: You bring developers, stakeholders, and operations onto the same page. You understand the challenges different teams face and find solutions that benefit the whole company.

Automation Sorcery: You champion automation as a way to save time and reduce errors, and you build tools that boost productivity across the team.

Problem-Solving Genius: You dive deep into problems, identify root causes, and come up with solutions that prevent future incidents.

Self-Organization Superpower: You thrive on autonomy and excel at structuring complex projects while working fully remotely.

Your typical at Digistore24

Morning video call to talk to your team about yesterday's progress and today's plans.

You like to work in a structured way and outline your daily routine and daily goals. Like every day, you block out enough time to work on the continuous development of our SRE processes. You are not alone in this, but can count on the support of your team.

Now it's time for the daily call with your team. You report on your priorities and blockers and receive tangible tips on how to solve your challenges.

For the next few hours, you allow yourself the luxury of turning off all messengers in order to develop focused ideas for improvements in auto-scaling, monitoring and alerting. You then test your ideas in practice. You make a note of these success principles so that you can present them to the Head of IT Operations in a one-on-one call.

After your lunch break, a developer needs help with a new CI/CD workflow. You discuss the requirements with him and provide him with an initial prototype.

You take the ticket to check the resource allocation of an application, check the current utilization and adjust the deployment.

You find an endpoint that is not yet included in the monitoring. After creating a ticket for this, you immediately write the code in the Terraform project to add it.

This position is NOT for you if

… you don't identify with our

… you're still early in your career and need close guidance to get up to speed

… you need to run every decision by your supervisor or colleagues instead of taking ownership

… you struggle to plan and prioritize your own work

… you'd rather avoid complex problems than dig into them
