Lead Fashion Designer

Darwaza is a multidisciplinary cultural institute based in Hamburg, Germany, dedicated to exploring the intersections between contemporary aesthetics and South Asian identity.

We are currently in the early stages of launching an independent fashion label that merges timeless silhouettes with cultural narrative, textile tradition, and modern design language.

To lead this vision, we are looking for a Lead Fashion Designer based in Islamabad, who will become the creative brain behind the brand -shaping every piece, every drop, and the visual DNA of what’s to come.

You won’t just be designing garments – you will create the soul of the brand.

From first sketches to final production, you will craft collections that reflect purpose, emotion, and aesthetics. You will be given full creative space to lead, shape, and define.

• Establish and define the creative direction and identity of the brand
• Design full collections (sketches, moodboards, tech packs)
• Source and select fabrics, colors, patterns, and silhouettes
• Supervise sample creation and production processes (local & international)
• Develop signature pieces, curated drops, and collection narratives
• Collaborate with branding, marketing, and visual storytelling teams
• Track fashion trends and reinterpret them through the brand’s lens
• Create visual concept drafts for lookbooks, showroom, and media assets

• Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of experience in fashion design (ideally premium or luxury segment)
• Excellent understanding of garment construction, textiles, and production workflows
• Strong visual sensibility and creative leadership
• Proactive, independent, and self-managed – we’re looking for a driver, not just an executor
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Clo3D, or equivalent design tools
