Digital Volume Measurement at Sauerland Spanplatte

<h2>Your mission</h2>
Shape the future of real-world LiDAR applications at a leading high-tech company in Munich.
At Blickfeld, we develop our own innovative LiDAR technology based on a frictionless MEMS mirror. Our sensors create 3D data of the environment in high resolution. These 3D point clouds contain detailed information about the exact size, position and speed of objects — enabling us to analyze the shape and movement of people, vehicles and other objects across a wide variety of applications including security, volume measurement, traffic management, and smart cities.
As Production Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in industrializing and stabilizing our semi-automated LiDAR sensor production in Munich. You are the technical backbone of our production floor — you keep the line running, ensure quality and yield, drive automation improvements, and guide our production operator on a day-to-day basis. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic start-up environment where you will work closely with R&amp;D, Quality, and Supply Chain to bring high-precision hardware to series production.
<h2>Your tasks</h2>
Production Industrialization: You drive the industrialization and stabilization of our semi-automated production line, identifying and resolving technical bottlenecks to improve throughput and repeatability
Automation Development: You develop and implement automation solutions for production setups — including scripting and tooling in Python to streamline manual steps and improve process reliability
Quality &amp; Yield Monitoring: You monitor production quality and yield on an ongoing basis, identify root causes of deviations, and report results to your supervisor with clear recommendations
Operator Guidance: You guide and support our production operator in the day-to-day assembly of sensitive LiDAR components, ensuring adherence to assembly instructions and quality standards
Material Planning: You keep an eye on material availability, initiate reorders in time, and coordinate with procurement to ensure production continuity
Cleanroom &amp; Lab Operations: You work in our cleanroom and lab environment, handling sensitive optical and mechanical assemblies with the required care and precision
Process Documentation: You document production processes, work instructions, and improvement measures in a structured and traceable way
Cross-functional Collaboration: You work closely with R&amp;D, Industrialization, and Quality teams to implement design-for-manufacturing improvements and support new product introductions
<h2>Your profile</h2>
Academic Background: You hold a Bachelor's or FH degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, software engineering, or a comparable technical field
Work Experience: You bring approximately 2 years of relevant professional experience in a production, manufacturing, or hardware engineering environment
Programming Skills: You have solid Python skills and are comfortable using them to automate test routines, data analysis, or production processes
Mechanical Understanding: You have a good feel for fine mechanics and are experienced in handling sensitive, high-precision components and assemblies
Automation Know-how: You have a basic understanding of automation technology and how production setups can be systematically automated
Optics Knowledge: Basic knowledge of optical systems or components is a plus — but not a strict requirement
Image Processing: Experience with image processing (e.g. OpenCV) is an advantage
Work Style: You work in a structured, independent manner and take ownership of your area — while staying closely connected to the team around you
Language Skills: You are business fluent in German and have a good working level of English
<h2>Why Blickfeld?</h2>
Purpose &amp; Technology: You work on cutting-edge LiDAR technology that enables safer, smarter, and more efficient environments — from critical infrastructure to smart cities — while contributing directly to real-world impact.
Ownership &amp; Growth: You operate in a dynamic high-tech environment with flat hierarchies, where individual initiative is valued, responsibilities are clear, and your ideas can quickly make a difference.
Agile Ways of Working: You operate in an agile setup with monthly sprints and releases, allowing you to regularly implement new ideas and see tangible results.
Hybrid Work Model: You have the option of working flexibly from home or in the office based on individual agreement.
Team &amp; Culture: You become part of a passionate, technology-driven team where like-minded people inspire each other and share a strong enthusiasm for innovation.
Team Spirit: We value a positive working environment and promote team spirit through regular team events and joint activities.
Health &amp; Fitness: You receive a subsidized Urban Sports Club membership, giving you access to a wide range of sports and fitness activities such as yoga, swimming, climbing, and team sports across Munich.
Excellent Coffee: For the perfect start to the day and in between, we have extremely good coffee to support and invigorate you.
