BABLE Smart Cities is Europe’s leading facilitator for innovation in the public sector. Our mission is to make cities more liveable, sustainable and digital by bridging the gap between public administrations and innovative companies.
We are looking for a highly motivated native German-speaking student to join our team in Stuttgart. Depending on your skills and interests as well as project requirements, you will work at the intersection of bringing innovative solutions into public sector — supporting cities, regions, and partners in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (D-A-CH region).
This position is designed to give you a broad and practical entry into the world of urban innovation, public sector insights and business development. Every day you will work to bring direct value to the market participants.
BABLE Smart Cities is proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, age, marital status, disability, or gender identity.
What You Will Be Doing
Depending on ongoing projects and your strengths, your responsibilities will include:
· Supporting the outreach and client communication through data-driven analyses, mailings, meetings and preparation of materials.
· Preparing and facilitating workshops to collect primary information from public sector.
· Supporting communication and documentation.
· Engaging with city representatives and ecosystem partners as part of BABLE’s innovation network.
Your role will evolve dynamically depending on our project portfolio, your interests, and your learning goals.
What You Bring
· Good communication skills as you will be in front of innovators and cities to inquire about their plans.
· Enrolled in a university program such as urban planning, political science, business, engineering, or sustainability-related studies.
· Compulsory internship as part of the curriculum would be preferable.
· Native German (C2) and Good English skills (C1) – written and spoken.
· Interest in smart cities, sustainability, or innovation-driven public sector transformation.
· Ability to work independently, think critically, and deliver reliable results.
· Curiosity, creativity, and the drive to make an impact in real projects.
· Ideally, previous experience or coursework in public administration, consulting, or data analysis.
If you are passionate about sustainability, digitalisation and urban transformation — and want to work in a team that combines purpose, innovation and European collaboration — we’d love to hear from you.
